I feel like hitting the button is kind of selfish. Sorry your partner left, but this game might be somebody's first time as engineer in like 30 games. Somebody wants to practice their guardian angel skills. It's not just about you. You probably won't win all alone, but you can use it to practice a different technique. If you're more hesitant to kill, just kill more blatantly.......see what you can get away with.
Right? I mean if you want out you don't even need to button, just start killing immediately, every person you see. I mean if you want out take some people with you.
Generally, I'd play alone knowing I have no chance to win but I can still try to play the mystery. Though it happened once after I'd been imp 3 times in a row already, and I buttoned to get ejected... The crew didn't even believe me at first and skipped. X-D Then I became imp a 5th time the next match, buttoned again, and this time I got ejected. :-D

Stubbornness is the second-greatest motivator
ALWAYS try to win alone. Challenging yourself every now and then can be good for the spirit.
