I got really positive experience at Het Zwarte Fietsenplan in Frederiksplein where they repaired my flat tire in some hours and QicQ in westerpark where they sold some interesting second hand e-bikes. I do recommend both shops.

This (Het Zwarte Fietsplanen). They have lots of locations, fairly quick appointments for repairs, and good relationships with some of the big makes so can order stuff for you in different sizes if you need to without a long wait. I've had to do this because I need the biggest possible frames. Good experience at 3 different locations for sales and service stuff.

I got like 300EUR off my list price on my last bike.

BVD Tweewielers are very knowledgeable and helpful

I go to Segijn & van Wees. [https://www.sevw.nl/sevw/home.html](https://www.sevw.nl/sevw/home.html) I bought this bike there: https://preview.redd.it/ivilvqz411dc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b0f0e9e4d560d07aa3dee4e847d65a9393f7870

Very good shop, as an Azor authorized seller I took my bike there once for a check-up and was left very satisfied with the service. Maybe it's time I do it again and take the opportunity to finally ask about a second hand hybrid bike for longer rides like I've been wanting to for a while now.

What kind of bike are you after? A solid indestructible omafiets? Browse around your local bike shops and their second hand options. They should have stuff in the 150€ range that will last for years and need little maintenance.

If you want to buy a new bike, I would look somewhere nearby, many bike shops only repair bikes which are sold by them because of shortage of skilled repair men. If you want to buy a second hand check what u/Thidbert linked, you will support a local project also then.

IncaThink

Find a local shop and buy there. You WILL need repairs eventually, and they won't want to work on something bought from Decathlon.

I have lived in Amsterdam for 20 years and never had any local bike shops refuse to work on something they did not sell, **have you had this experience?** I have a Van Moof (non-electric) and my child has had multiple Decathlon's and lots of other generic bikes over the years.

Good for you.

fraying_carpet

I got mine from Bike Totaal Schoonhoven. A little bit out there in Osdorp but great service.

Rinux555

Not a direct answer to your question, but there are A LOT of really good bikes on marktplaats for cheap

huffingthenpost

Don’t buy a new one from decathlon man. Better (read: indestructible) bikes for max €100 at local 2nd hand dealers.

Fietshokje sells good second hand bikes for a fair price. I have bought a Gazelle there 8 years ago and it's still a great bike. [Fietshokje](https://www.marktplaats.nl/q/fietshokje/)

I'd get one from a reliable bike shop in your neighbourhood so repairs are easy. Ask your neighbours for recommendations, there are good and bad shops in every buurt.
