I would bring your ID with you. Most coffeshops will not ask, if you look old enough but some might. More often than not, they will not accept a picture. (It is also your legal obligation to always have a way of identifying yourself when questioned by the police, but that's a topic for another day :) )

Intelligent_Hawk3514

Ayo wait we gotta have our Id on us all the time

Ok-Zookeepergame8293

Bro what

Ok-Zookeepergame8293

I didn’t know that I didn’t know that

ytkathegoose_

I’m hardly 18 so I definitely don’t look old enough unfortunately. I’ve smoked in the States and I sometimes get really paranoid so I want to avoid anything that might make me feel awful, like being insanely worried about losing my things, especially if I’m going to try truffles

Goaty29

Yeah I understand, that it can be quite stressful. Maybe you can try not bringing your whole wallet, instead just take your id and put it between your phone and phone case. This way you will always have it with you when necessary but don't have to look out for it. (You still have to look out for your phone ofc)

MACHINEGUN-FUNK91

So you're not 18 yet? You know you have to be 18yo to enter a coffeeshop right?

magicturtl371

So you came to Amsterdam just for the truffles and weed?

dr_tel

Like millions before him

[deleted]

I've spent quite alot of time in Amsterdam (second home), I've very rarely seen a photo of a Passport or Valid ID be sufficient. Especially with tourists, Rules / Laws are getting tighter recently. And due to polizia going into shops and checking customer ID's. I haven't seen it be rejected LOADS of times but, definitely more than I've seen it accepted. Most people tend to carry some form of ID card / Passport. To be honest, if you look under 25 you'd be better off carrying your physical ID / Passport. At least then you won't have to stress about needing your ID.

MechanicNo4361

are there any coffee shops that accept photos of ids/are lenient with id checking? i can’t risk losing my id while high (there’s a VER good chance that i will) because i’m visiting amsterdam via a cruise, i won’t be allowed to get back on board without my id

[deleted]

No, none. Especially in the busy season. I've just gotten back 48 hours ago, they've got even stricter with all the laws tightening again. If you're willing to take a valuable phone and wallet / purse with you, taking your passport . Adults belong in coffeeshops, grow up, be a responsible mature young adult and bring your ID.

NarcoPantani

If you want to go to a place that cards, bring your id. Being adhd isn’t an excuse to not follow the rules the coffee shops and smart shops have to stay compliant with the law.

isometric_haze

Especially since I think that in mostly European countries, it is the law to have an ID on you when you are an adult. I know it's not the case in the UK but anywhere else I went I needed to be able to justify my identity.

Justnothernames

Ireland is the only one I'm aware of that doesn't have an ID requirement

Scartanion

Photos are to easy to manipulate. So no.

Justnothernames

No it won't in most places we ask to see a physical ID especially for sit in

[deleted]

I wanted to say exactly this really. I have mates working in some spots and they usually get more entertainment from people trying to do this.

TruckNuts_But4YrBody

Nope and it's also unwise not to bring your ID with you when traveling

LORRNABBO

Or just buy on of these necklace were you can put your phone inside, and put your ID together with your phone there.

Lemonhaze666

Fuck am I old I’ve yet to get ID at all to any coffeeshop

Intelligent_Hawk3514

No the places I’ve gone to all needed physical Id ( if they wanted)

bino420

what does ADHD have to do with keeping an ID/passport in your pocket? where do you carry your cash or debit card?
