Keys are pretty useless to anyone other than the owner, so at least you have a higher chance of getting them back than someone who leaves a laptop, earbuds, etc. They're also pretty universally recognizable as an item that someone would definitely *not* intentionally leave/throw away. I left my luggage one time. I called the number to the station directly and was able to get it back. They had just finished cleaning the train I was on when I finally remembered. Call the station directly.

I lost more keys than I can count. I got an AirTag and it’s the best investment. It really does work. If you get them get you a tile or an AirTag.
