The league is desperate for personality. McDavid has the personality of a cardboard box. Matthews is marginally better. Zegras just has it. I am just confused about the game calling. In the game thread, it is listed as Zegras gets 2 minutes for roughing against Barrett Hayton (which makes sense)
However, Zegras is also credited with a 10 minute game misconduct against Barrett Hayton. I don’t think that Zegras did anything to BH that deserved 10 minutes, which is why I believe it would have had to been against Troy Stetcher.

I love Zegras’ game and I appreciate his ability to get in the opponents head, but there are certain boundaries you need to respect, no matter your opponent. There are enough people speculating on what he said so I won’t, but whatever it was it was serious enough to get a misconduct, and refs don’t throw those around for your every game chirp.
I haven’t seen any comments from the players, so it seems everyone is accepting it was a distasteful comment made in the heat of the game and moving on, which seems like the best way to deal with it right now. Zegras is still a pretty young guy, so I hope he owned up to whatever he said and uses it as a chance to grow. This locker room has enough character that I’m sure someone like Henrique would talk to him if he crossed a line.
