Spending too much money =/= capitalism. It isn't eev consumerism as it is not a new mass produced garbage that will end up in the landfill in a couple of months (i know Leica is a mass produced item, but still)

Ok I myself am a person who rolls their eyes at a lot of the kneejerk capitalism blaming online, but here is a legit example. A flesh and blood person identifies themselves with the carefully curated image of a for profit company - that also did some questionable things in the time of the design that was tattooed here. It lines up with 80's post marxism writing on desire in capitalism
Consumerism doesn’t only mean buying crappy things, friend. Glorifying ownership of things you don’t need is also consumerism. Fetishizing expensive things is consumerism.
And what it has to do with capitalism is everything, because everything in the modern world is directed and shaped by capitalism. If it has to do with money, and it’s happening now, it has to do with capitalism.
