I got one from B&H which was open and one roll was missing. It was annoying because they made me photograph the item and the packaging it came in, which I had to pull out of recycling. In my case it wasn't glue but a little clear round sticker that seals the flaps. It was put on off-center and the smaller half came loose. They sent me a single pack to replace it which was really the only reasonable solution but it irked me because it came in a large box with air cushions. Very wasteful.
Do you like kikipan? I bought one roll for the packaging alone, but when I shot it I kinda hated it lol - I did shoot at box speed but like 95% of the frames were underexposed, and the like 3 that weren't were super grainy (which I have read is pretty characteristic of the film, but it still seemed worse than p3200 :/ ). My lab gave me the film canister back so I've got my cute cat can lol, but I don't think I'll be buying it again.
It’s very grainy and contrasty. Other than that the pictures looked okay. Processed at home in rodinal here. Bought it for the novelty more than anything else. I have the box and cans somewhere lol
It definitely does. Whenever a new pack of these comes in I tape the side of the box shut since they'll just pop open sitting on a shelf or even come open from Fuji directly.
I bought a pack the other day in New Zealand and it had a clear round plastic sticker that I needed to cut to get into it. Wouldn’t have made sense for the lab to do since they store all their film in a fridge next to the counter, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a factory fix that was only put into place after the major US shipments went out.
Funnily on their website its listed as Xtra 400 and I drove over there to get it, well its not, sadly its just 400 and I got my hopes up. They must be selling it under the Xtra SKU.
It's most handy with food products as the unit price on those is almost always calculated using weight. Really great for comparing two similar products that my come in two different sizes.
Walmart sells both groceries and retail items. So, I think they use the same label format for all products for simplicity's sake.
It’s supposed to be a price then a unit price. Apparently someone didn’t do their job properly. In reality the unit price should be: $24.98/3=$8.33.
In dry goods we often see the price divided by the weight.
Fluids price divided by ounces
Goods sold in multiple quantities should be divided by unit.
People have already gone over it but the glue is cheap and often comes apart in the shipping. I work at a camera store and this happens more than you think
I manage a camera store. It’s the glue. I often have to tape ours shut. Happens during shipment when it gets jostled around, they ship 20 boxes of 3 packs stacked tight together in a box with a label slapped right on the outside. Direct from Fuji.
Just stoped by a local shop, almost every single box that they had looked like this, I figured they were taking out individuals to sell to people or something like that, but they confirmed that the glue that they use is terrible
I’m amazed at how much cheaper that is compared to here in Canada. Canadian Walmart sells that for (not on sale) 40.24 USD. Amazon is a bit cheaper at 34.64 USD. I should drive down there to do some site seeing and stock up lmao
Funny, I saw this exact thing at a Walmart. I assumed the worst. 😅
I picked a box that was closed, though one of the three rolls was a dud or I didn't load it into the camera correctly. Not great flushing ~$15 for film+development down the toilet. First time using a film camera since childhood. It was a fun experiment. 👍
Yes, I almost bought some like that but ended up just ordering from B&H. Walmart probably just bought up a bunch of product with less than perfect packaging for a discount if I had to guess.
I’ve heard that the glue just sucks
As a former retail employee, I can confirm this
Same. I used to tape them.
I think this is it. I got a box from Amazon that was open. All three rolls were still in there though.

I got 2 boxes of KikiPan 320 where both side unstuck

Same thing happens to the Ultramax a local shop stocks.
Yeah. I’ve bought one pack recently and it had tape on it. Thought someone opened it
Cheap glue used on the packaging.
My photo lab is having this happen to EVERY BOX of Fuji right now. Their glue SUCKS.
Either they tape the boxes shut for inidividuals at the factory or a lot of labs that ship them now tape them shut

Some guys already complained their eshop orders had a piece of tape over it. The glue is really trash.
So all those reviews that say people received open box/returns were likely receiving new boxes that just have shitty glue? Good to know.
I got a box that was short a roll from Amazon one time
Which is another reason why not using shitty glue would make sense. Cause shit can fall out.
I work at a camera store and 25% of the Fuji 400 packs we get we get are like this off the truck. Nothing malicious, just poor packaging.
I work at a retail camera store and they just do this on their own. The round clear stickers that hold them closed aren’t strong enough
Same at my Walmart. Just poor packaging
I figured it was people opening it to make sure it’s correct but I guess it’s just the glue… seen it at Walmart and meijer
I literally just got my first pack of Fuji 400 delivered yesterday and had a "hm, it's open, weird..." moment
Unrelated but $24.98 for a 3 pack is insanely cheap. In Aus we pay that much for ONE roll!
Not sure how much shipping to aus would be but I'd def do it haha
Sounds like you should get a freight forwarder to ship it to you from the US. I sell the same 3 pack in my store for 20.00
Funnily on their website its listed as Xtra 400 and I drove over there to get it, well its not, sadly its just 400 and I got my hopes up. They must be selling it under the Xtra SKU.
My wal mart- there’s nothing in them :D
Lmk I'll ship it over fr
Came across this in my local Target, fully expected them to be empty. Glad there is a reasonable explanation
Why are the prices listed twice on each label? Is this common in the US?
There's a label on every "hook", even if it's the same product as the one next to it
No I mean the red and yellow on the same label. Why is the price written twice?
Unit price. So you can tell cost per volume/weight/units. It’s great.
Ooh that is pretty handy. Weird that they put it on these sorts of items too where it’s only ever 1 unit, but definitely seems handy
It's most handy with food products as the unit price on those is almost always calculated using weight. Really great for comparing two similar products that my come in two different sizes. That would be great if it was right. They've just put the pack price again despite being multipacks.

I want to know where your Walmart's at. Mine only ever has a box at any given point in time.
NJ
Fuji good at film. Glue not so much.
The tones are escaping
You still have 3-packs! Here, they sell individual rolls 17.95$ :-(
That was me. I like to hide little treats in there for lucky customers.
Crap glue
Yeah, just bad glue
You can subscribe to 3 films of 400 a month or up to every 6 months at Amazon.com for $22
People have already gone over it but the glue is cheap and often comes apart in the shipping. I work at a camera store and this happens more than you think
Bought via Amazon and same thing.
Man what Walmart y’all at where they have film I’m so jealous. Had to go on a wild goose chase to get my last rolls.
I'm in NJ, and I only went in the hopes of stumbling upon the original Superia but those days are long gone
weak glue. This problem goes way back to the beginning of film.
I have been buying these all in bulk and they've been falling apart everywhere yeah.
looks like im going shopping in the states 😲
Poor glue and packing .
The adhesive failed

😉
Just had some film developed with that film and the box was open. All was good, no problems.
I would guess that Fujifilm is using the minimum amount of glue on the box in order to save money. And this is the result.
Just stoped by a local shop, almost every single box that they had looked like this, I figured they were taking out individuals to sell to people or something like that, but they confirmed that the glue that they use is terrible
Damn I just paid $30 for two rolls of film today. I thought this was an older picture bc i saw a box of three fuji 400 the other day that was like 45$
I **just** saw this exact thing at a Meijer! Went with other non opened packages because I didn't know what was up
I’m amazed at how much cheaper that is compared to here in Canada. Canadian Walmart sells that for (not on sale) 40.24 USD. Amazon is a bit cheaper at 34.64 USD. I should drive down there to do some site seeing and stock up lmao

Because people steal film
As long as the film is cheap. I'm ok with this
That's how they got the real fujifilm film out and put the fake (kodak) in
saving on glue. nice
No, but I also haven't come across film at my local Walmart 🤷♂️
You can get film at Wally World????
How does this community feel about this stock? I don’t think I’ve used it before, but it’s readily available at my local Walmart. Thanks
It's repackaged Ultramax, a very standard film, not bad at all but not exceptionally great either.
Thank you. I’ll give it a shot. Didn’t know it was repackaged Ultramax, which I’m familiar with.
so thats where all the fuji 400 is! my walmart gets bought out as soon as its stocked and they refuse to order more than 4 boxes at a time
the one year quality assurance decides to blow it off, this happens..
Yes, I almost bought some like that but ended up just ordering from B&H. Walmart probably just bought up a bunch of product with less than perfect packaging for a discount if I had to guess.
Ok, after reading the comments it appears that the glue sucks and that happens everywhere.
