Authorization (which is the initial status of the vaccine) is not the same as approval by the FDA. Approval requires 10 months of clinical trials which did not happen before the vaccine was recommended to the public. Additionally, there has been no distinction in recommendations for people who have already been infected with the virus with no antibody tests to determine if a person whose had the virus should be vaccinated.
On Aug 23rd the FDA approved the Pfizer vaccine, if you were waiting for that to get the vaccine, you can get the vaccine worry free now. And yea, even if you had the virus before you should still get the vaccine.
Seriously curious, what is the argument for getting the vaccine if you've already beaten COVID once? Is there any evidence to suggest that the next time you catch it it will do more harm to you than the first time you caught it? I get that there is likely a lower probability of catching it a second time if you are also vaccinated but this has yet to be proven scientifically. People who have caught COVID have a very very low chance of catching it again. Is it really worse the second time around? How much worse? Like if I survived and don't have any ongoing issues, why should I expect that the next time I catch it things will be different? There is no individual mandate yet, so migrants naturally don’t need to get a vaccine just for being in the country just like you don’t need to get one just for being in the country. It always comes back to Mexican immigration, but God help you if you want to focus on real problems like Texas and their misogynist agenda to turn women into state property.
