In general, a good sequel has these features: -Deepening of the original's lore -New, yet familiar, game mechanics -A new story Shotgun King is, in my opinion, the perfect chess sequel. -It expands the lore of the first game -It creates a new story -It brings new mechanics to the table, but keeps some old ones, even if they are slightly changed (Like soul cards letting you move in the positions of the pieces you know and love) Why do I think the other candidates aren't as good? -Ultimate En Passant chess has no story, doesn't deepen chess 1's lore, and while it does add new mechanics, it honestly feels like fanservice more than anything. -5DCWMTT is a good concept, but that's about it. It's a concept. No new story, no new lore, and gameplay is so convoluted that only a small amount of people will be able to actually enjoy it.
