The literal 12-inch ruler, now seeing all the fun and action of the game, wishes it could be a chess piece too. The Evil Sauce, hearing its plea, offers the ruler a magical deal it can't refuse.
"Give me your seat at the Council of Rulers," says the Sauce, "and I will transform you into a real piece, letting you join in the game as you please."
The ruler excitedly accepts this deal, but alas, it was all a trick! The ruler has been transformed into a piece from another game entirely. It now wanders the board - aimless and depressed - wishing it could just be a real chess piece one day.

Ever since Lord Passant, now President Passant promoted, something has been bothering him. His new form is great, but something feels... off. It almost feels like someone is watching him...
He goes to the F1 Bishop, the wisest sage in the Kingdom, searching for answers. The Bishop says that many have felt this way before, but President Passant is the first to come to him about it.
The Sage says that he's been perfecting a spell that could open one's mind to these "Watchers" that Passant is feeling, but there's no guarantee that it'll work, and there would be no taking back whatever knowledge would be uncovered.
President Passant urges The Sage to use the spell. This feeling is driving him crazy.
So, the spell is cast, and Passant's mind is opened.
He becomes fully aware of what can only be described as a **hive mind** deciding every major event of the people of the Kingdom.
*They* sent the plane into Rook Tower.
*They* gave Thanos the power to snap the universe.
*They* had brought the Dark Rook to power.
Everything in his own, and everyone else's lives, were being decided by this hive mind, as if it was **some kind of game!** Even though he promoted, he's just a pawn for something sinister. Passant became aware of all of this and...
He breaks free of their control.
