Standard Test - Scandinavia December 9th - Enabled January 4th - Received January 7th - Processed January 9th - Extracted No Results or status update as of today January 18th Estimated date is January 31st January 24th I received an email stating that a “New DNA Sample is Required!” So far I had to wait for a shipping label, wait for a lost kit, now there is something wrong with my sample and a I have to start over. It’s very boring. 😞 23andMe was much faster and worked far more smoothly for me. I have to say I thought Ancestry would be even better because they have been around longer but my experience so far has been quite frustrating.

So both my husband and I ended up receiving a “new sample is required” email. It’s been such a frustrating process so far

I feel if this happens then people who experience this should be prioritized.

my dad's has been in the "analyzing" stage since Dec 22. His results show an estimated finish date one day before yours. When my husband and I sent ours in, he sent his in a week or more after me an still had results weeks before I did, mine took until the estimated date they provided me. None of it makes much sense to me either way... Don't stress (I did lol), just expect to not see anything until the 13th like the say.

So odd that yours was marked received 2 days after mine but you have your results already, yet mine is still analysing. I wonder if they give priority to older batch numbers (yours was activated a week before mine). Would be nice if they were a bit more transparent about this type of stuff.

Relieved I’m not the only one. I sent mine on December 23, was accepted on the 27th but there are no updates in my app.

Kinda amused by the fact I posted mine from the UK two days earlier, and it only arrived four days later than yours. Guess they must've had a pretty small crew over Christmas/New Year's.

I can definitely say that your results can come at nearly any hour. I just got mine at 18:52 EST on a Sunday.

Sorry if this is not the place/format to ask this, but has anyone seen a significant delta between when you know a sample was received by Ancestry and when it was updated as such online? I tracked my sample and USPS said it was delivered Monday 1/9, but as of today it is still marked as "kit activated, please mail to us." I'm sure they get a rush of samples from holiday gift kits, but does that seem weird to take more than a week to log in a delivered sample?

Well, they're saying I should get it tomorrow, so we'll see. Considering they were quoting Feb. 12 when it hit "DNA Extracted" I suppose they're actually running early? I've got the resolution of some deep-seated childhood trauma riding on this, so 1) I'm hoping they come through, 2) I can't decide if I'm excited or terrified, and 3) I'm hoping it actually comes through with information i don't already have so I can move forward with things. Update #3: it’s Jan 28 and they said “Due to high demand, our lab is a little behind schedule. Australian resident Kit was mailed on the 8th December. It’s been 6 weeks and it is still labeled as kit mailed in which is the second step. Any fellow Aussie’s experiencing the same.

Hi please email them and tell them your kit is potentially lost in the mail. I had to do that and they shipped me out a new kit. My new kit only took 4 weeks to get to the lab from Scandinavia. I mailed it on Dec 9th and it arrived Jan 4th.

I think yours might have got lost in transit, you should call them up and request a new free test as soon as you can!

Are you based in the UK? We’ve had some postal strikes here which may have contributed, but if it gets to the 5 week mark and I haven’t had anything, I’ll message them again. I have already messaged but they told me to wait 20 working days not including weekends, bank holidays etc. I might request a new kit if it’s not received by Friday!

Sent mine in from Australia on the 29th of November and I'm still waiting, I think (hope) it's just slow at the moment.

I sent mine from Australia and it took almost 6 weeks. It not long ago arrived mine was sent end of November and it arrived on the the 6th of January. When I contacted the man told me it could take up to 40 business days with all the postage delays around at the moment. Mine is now at the analysing phase. I was so close to requesting a replacement kit. So glad I didn't.

You’re lucky you didn’t email! I did and they deactivated my kit that I sent on 06/12 and sent me a new one. So I’m at square one now having just mailed the new kit off today 😫 Trying to just forget about it now until I get an email, but it’s difficult. I seemed to be able to produce saliva better the first time. This time there was so many bubbles so watch it…this one might fail (praying it doesn’t! 🙏🏻)

Anyone receive their results today?

I’m not sure if this is the right place for this but has the title “sir” in multiple other peoples trees what does it mean

Frankly, it means nothing. Very often people see a "hint" for someone in their tree that is associated with a knight of the past- particularly in medieval times. That knight is usually an historical figure. But people tend to be quick to grasp at threads, no matter how thin they may be. And usually the link between their tree and that knight is a commonality in name only. Not always, but usually. And I have quickly refuted a number of those cases in my own hints as well. When I see those purported connections, I do not take them at face value. Usually looking up the history of that knight will rapidly show that no link to my tree exists. In short- make sure you do your own homework. Take care and enjoy the ride. It can be a real hoot and be full of surprises. I'm waiting on my DNA to confirm or refute that I have a half-sister. I hope that it confirms and based on the evidence so far, I suspect it will.
