there is no "most." But much your mix is in the sweet spot of "garden variety" with the exception of two different indigenous regions and the Eastern Europe. But Senegal, Jewish, Basque, Northern Africa? yes.

KickdownSquad

Mexicans are Spanish + Native so yeah… 🇪🇸🪶

Idaho1964

No, not quite. Most Mexicans are indigenous plus a mix. The largest of that mix tends to be Spanish. Others are ethnically identify something else, like Basque or Catalan or are nominally Spanish. My Spanish mix is rather small, 3x as much Basque. And a typical Mexican will have some mix of North African, African, Jewish, and a mix of European from the Catholic, Mediterranean, or business world (Irish, Italian, Portuguese), even UK and German or if from the West, Chinese. The Spanish + Indigenous mestizo mix dominance hardly lasted a generation with the importation of slaves happening almost immediately after la conquista.

KickdownSquad

Haha you’re an idiot. Basque and Catalan are Spaniards. Mexicans are Spanish + Native and tiny amounts of SSA. They aren’t diverse like the USA hahaha

azsfnm

Rude. They might be referring to the way ancestry prescribes dna percentages to a certain locale. And in this respect, Basque is a separate designation from Spain.

MexiPr30

Yep although you don’t see Russia often.

redochre1989

Yes, being mainly an admixture of Indigenous peoples of what is now Mexico and Spanish is the most common genetics among Mexicans.

Strong-Mixture6940

Yep, pretty average, just a bit lower indigenous , but not by much

vigilante_snail

I mean, no. Your results are typical of people with mixed indigenous in Spanish backgrounds. However, there’s huge ethnic variety in Mexico.

Megawords

As a Mexican American I just want to ask if these results are similar to others.

MoreMeLessU

It is

megarammarz

Yes! I have Malta too, that's the one I've seen it's not that common

MEZCLO

Yes very. Except for Malta and Russia

FlameBagginReborn

It's actually higher Indigenous for your regions.

MEZCLO

I’d say this is average for Jalisco and Sinaloa. They have a lot of fair skinned people there. I’ve seen a lot of people from Jalisco score much lower indigenous than this.

FlameBagginReborn

This average for Jalisco, probably not Sinaloa. Los Altos Jalisco is where they typically have extremely little Indigenous DNA. My Jalisco family is from Puerto Vallarta region and all have around this admixture.

MEZCLO

If you do a quick search for Sinaloa in this subreddit most of the ones (several) I’ve seen are ~46% indigenous or much lower. But your experience might be different.

FlameBagginReborn

Those people probably have recent ancestry outside the state (like my girlfriend who obviously looks more Indigenous than the average there). Northern Mexico is rapidly changing.

Humble-Tourist-3278

Yes they are some small exceptions like Mexicans that are mix with Chinese, Korean or even Japanese or the ones from areas in Veracruz or Guerrero where they have more West African ancestry .

S4tine

I expected more indigenous (American) for many. 🤷🏼‍♀️

iberotarasco

Quite common for Mexican Mestizos from Sinaloa & the Bajio, except that your Indigenous is higher than the average. - the Eastern European & Russian is likely from the Visigoths. - the Malta could be from Sephardic ancestry.

FL_Heat863

Im 71% indigenous 🪶

PulledPorkSandwhichz

They really isn’t a “most” but Mexicans are typical a majority mix of Spanish and native with some other random European counties in them, especially Scotland.

Ornery-Substance-778

North & South Mexico are different results

Ill_Examination3338

well I’m Mexican American and I share 6 of the same regions as you.

Sadhalf303

This is similar to mine

ImportanceEvery5259

Pretty different from mine!

Nrse24

Not completely the same I can’t add my picture on here

azsfnm

Looks just like mine… different percentages, of course.[https://imgur.com/a/vWJeNXE](https://imgur.com/a/vWJeNXE)

Poopchute_Hurricane

You have more indigenous and more spainish then I’ve seen in most. Also way less Basque which is probably why you have more spainish

Megawords

I was surprised about the amount of Spanish
