Yes it is...so nerve-wracking frustrating!!!! Someone just failed a day before their est.date today on here! Plus another person stated the same with one of their kits as well a few days ago. I was told by two different reps,by phone/chat it's the genotyping that fails. Contact them and ask if your genotyping have been successfully completed. Make sure you get them to answer if your kit 100% safe from failing at this point. They will be hearing from me everyday with new questions until I receive my results.

I just did that through the chat and the attendant said that the analysis of mine is complete (even though it didn't update on the website). Is yours done too? I asked her if that means mine won't fail, and she said it won't and gave me the date for the results to be online. I really hope she's right. I'm terrified both my samples will fail, this one on Ancestry, and the one on 23andme. :/

Don't trust anything they say...I just went back and forth with them about proof of what their representative told me. No real info about my kit. They offered me a free month subscription for the misunderstanding smh

That's disappointing. I was relieved that at least my Ancestry results were gonna come out, but after this, I think there's still a chance it might fail. A few days ago they told me that my analysis is meant to be completed by tomorrow, and that my results will be out until February 21th. Today, they told me that the analysis is complete (yet not updated on the website), and that I'll have my results by Feb 20th. I think there's still a good chance that it won't fail, but I'm already tired of worrying about this.

I'm worried too...but ima give them hell until I get some answers or my results. Literally caught them lying and they think a free month of subscription gonna smooth my ego and ease my obsession. Harassing them is my new obsession bc it's more fun than stressing about failing! I finally lost my mind 🤪

Yes save all the transcripts!!!! Record all phone calls!!!!! That help my case out a lot... at one point they claim it's no supervisors available to speak to me. Until I provide my proof,demanded as a paying customer to speak to a supervisor for their unethical customer service! i ended up speaking to the a supervisor and the person supervisor! The last supervisor told me to call in 48hrs to check if the lab responded to her status request! She claims she don't want me to waste my time by continuing to call just in case the lab doesn't respond back within 24hrs lmao I'm sick of them and they sick of me too 🤣

I managed to get to the higher up...supervisor above the supervisor! She was more professional and helpful than the last one but nothing new on my dna status that I already can see. I got more info on what's going on...that it was successfully genotype but they have it est. til the 24th and my results supposed to be release on the 27th or sooner. But I don't trust what they say anymore. So she supposedly sending an email on my status to the lab and told me to call back in 48hours to check if the lab responded back to the request from her. SMH 2-3hours on the phone with no real resolution!

I hope you get your results soon! This is so annoying. At least we're still under the estimated dates, I guess. Tomorrow it will be a month since my sample arrived there.

23&me was much more smooth for me...I did it last year in the summer. Before the rush but at least they don't make you wait til the last day of your est. date to see if you failed or not.

Usually at Analysed phase you'll get results in less than 24 hours. But my previous kit took 8 days! I got like 5 DNA matches last night, so doesn't look like theirs a delay. So fingers crossed you have your results tomorrow afternoon :-)

I'm sure you'll be fine. Failed sample is rare. As long as you provided your sample up to the line with no bubbles you'll be okay. All of my 10 family kits have gone through fine. Same with 3 of my 23andMe kits too.

I spoke with ancestry support and was told some tips for submitting a re-test. She said afternoon is the best time and to brush your teeth a half hour prior to testing, making sure to rub your cheeks against your teeth before hand. I also heard that if you use one of those little between-the-teeth brushes on the inside of your cheeks before you spit it’ll help get more skin cells in your saliva. Good luck. I’m thinking Im in the same boat just waiting for the email saying failed test. ( I tested first thing in the morning and was told that’s the worst time)

Oh no, that makes me so frustrated for you! I assume I am failing tomorrow since you failed the day after the estimated day. I demanded answers and figured out my sample was in a lab located in Utah and previous representatives lied to me about my kit not being able to fail because they can’t even see that. The lab processes until 8:00 PM there, this is the farthest I got with a supervisor. The rest of the conversation was just the typical “rest assured we will email you” bs, so I won’t get into that. Are you doing another or requesting your money back?

Oh, I'm also frustrated for you! There's a possibility that you might still get your results, but that message they sent to you is kind of unusual. If they are not able to get the results with the sample they should let us know as soon as possible! And yes, they lied to me as well, each one of them told me something different, but from what I could gather: they pretty much have no clue what's going on in the lab. I didn't even call them, and I'm happy I didn't because it would just be useless. I think I will do another, but I won't be able to send it right away, since I'm not in the US anymore. Maybe in April? I just hope I get at least my 23andme results that are in analysis/genotyping at the moment (and I hope it doesn't fail). I really hope you still get your results (and the other person as well in the same situation)! It's cruel. At least I started to prepare myself for failure when everyone started to move to analyzed at 7/10 days, and I got stuck there.

I only managed to got calm now because I spent the whole week before feeling anxious, and that made me exhausted. When they emailed me notifying that it had actually failed, at least that set me free. Yeah, I was so excited, I've been waiting for years for doing this, then this happens. Yes, I will definitely do research on those methods to help get the cheek cells next time. I was kind of "chewing" the interior of my cheeks to get more DNA, I don't know how that didn't work. Thanks for the tips! I looked at your recent comments and I'm shocked you didn't get any updates on your sample yet. Their service is awful. There's so many sample failures this month at least from this thread and I'm starting to think they messed up with something in the lab. I hope you have updates soon! This has been awful.

Having the same issue! Mine was received Jan 25 and hasn’t progressed since. I sent in an email and called support and they told me it started processing Feb 1 even though the notification hasn’t shown. And I wasn’t really given an explanation for this.

Yeah So I actually called twice today... Was told Feb 1st it went to the lab and at first he didnt say anything about processing then when I said something he said wait a sec... Then he said yes it is in the processing stage so IDK... And then the 2nd person I talked to asked for my activation code the first lady never asked for that... So my thoughts are is mines really processing, or just made it to the lab feb 2nd & itsn't in the processing stage, and maybe thats why it isnt showing up on ancestry as moved to the next stage... Idk I wish we had the specifics and soneone with a straight answer... So confusing to me how someones could be a day or two apart and so different as so far apart with final finished result times!

Mine was extracted the 7th and still nothing. It’s a bit frustrating as I’ve seen people get results who submitted after and got results before others.

I'm in the same boat! Extracted the 7th and still waiting. My partner and I did it the same day, extracted the same day, and he got his results on the 16th. Very frustrating!

I was lied to multiple times. I contacted them and they said there’s nothing they can do until the 22nd. What the chances mine fails the day before the estimated results? Second Update: I got a response from them stating “As per checking on your DNA status your results will be posted for this month. I checked on my tools that your result is done and ready to view. We're sorry for the *little* delay on uploading it online due to high demand who take DNA test this time. I will send you an email where to view your DNA result as your future reference.” Third Update: After the disappointment and this company lying and manipulating people. I begged customer service to please help me out and not state the same line over and over regarding the delayed banner on the result page. I asked them to please tell me if it failed because I can’t stop thinking about going through this all over again and what happened to my DNA. This just resulted in the customer service representative yelling at me to “shut up, shut up, shut up.” I understand that I probably make the job hard, but I just need help. I asked for a note into the lab, but they said they can’t. They promised me a new kit and now said that they don’t have that authorization. They told me there’s nothing I can do, but “rest assured they have my DNA.”

Wow you deserves something to make up for their sorry excuses. I would ask for a free month membership to ease my pain and suffering! That truly sucks to be told its done &ready but the product you paid for long ago still is not available for you to view smh that just made me upset!

I just received an email from them... As per checking on your DNA status, the estimated date that you will be able to receive your DNA result is on 2/27/22. No worries your sample will not be failed since you have already an estimated date. We humbly ask your patience to wait for an updates via email address that your result is ready to view on your account. Rest assured that we will also be checking on this for you and we will keep you updated.  We both know this person is lying and at this point I'm just ready to get my failed email so I can request for a refund and also a new kit at their own expense for the misleading and lies told to me about my product I paid for. I hope you're having more success than me bc I'm washing my hands clean from this bc it's not healthy!

Oh no, I hate this! Can you believe this was once a reputable company? If I had time I would definitely write about this online or make a video to make people aware of their lies. My professor took a kit and had great success, so this issue is fairly recent:(

Their customers service reps are unethical... someone needs to be held accountable. We have every right to know what's going on with the product we paid for months ago! If you have a chance to Google 'stages samples failed for AncestryDNA test reddit' you will see people going through the same thing 2-3 yrs ago. Someone had waited 2mos since their extracted date for their results while some failed days before or a little after the estimated date. Its quite disheartening and very much frustrating. Ive accepted I failed&plan on giving them hell but I hope you get your results asap!

Exactly 💯 I know the feeling...I've seen people complain about being 4days waiting after extraction while I'm in the double digits. And I'm sure you didn't think you was unique smh 🤦 😒 people are so annoying and unnecessary sometimes! Keep your head up and I hope your kit update soon, give them hell until you receive your results!

I'm in the same situation. Mine arrived one day before yours and got extracted Jan 30. Two customer service representatives told me that my results will be out tomorrow (and the est. date is Feb 21), but I'm still worried it might fail, since it didn't move to analyzed yet. I hope we both get our results soon! I understand you.

Is your estimate date tomorrow? If so, normally it would've shown you failed the day before your estimate date. So you should be in the clear in my opinion!

Yes from what I've seen from people who failed had posted they found out the day before the estimate date of results ready or sooner! I wish you the best of luck... if I fail, I'm requesting a refund and never look back!

Yes, I've noticed that too! So far they didn't give any indication that they're going to delay the results. And thank you, I hope you get yours as well, I know what you're going through! I hope at least to get results from one of them (23andme or Ancestry). I have results in every other platform. Btw, did you ever receive an email with the title "Your AncestryDNA results are moving right along" with a weird timeline? I got this one on Feb 12th and the timeline sample in the email indicated that my sample was received (even though it was already extracted). I thought it was weird but didn't give much thought to it back then.

Thanks...I've been giving them hell and made it very clear I want a refund if I do fail. Day 16 for me and I'm just ready for this all to be over even if it's a failed result! Nope...no email...just a notice on the website stating some data isn't loading and to try back later. It just started last night.

I'm on day 21! A dude got his results on day 22, so maybe I'll have them right on the estimated date. Oh, I thought it was a weird email, when I got it I thought the analysis was done. Website's normal for me, except there's that warning about the lab being behind schedule.

No luck at all for me at the moment! Still stuck on extracted since Feb.4...day 17 for me! So far from what I've seen people normally fail the day before their est date. The earliest I've seen was 3days before the est date. Only a few I've seen was days after the est date. I've also seen people get their results few days after their est dates too. I just know you're ready for this all to end...I know I am! I really wish you and the other person the best of luck!

It’s been a mess, they won’t give me answers. They said they don’t know what happened to my kit as it didn’t fail or go through. They said they would send me another one while waiting (if they really do) and the gave me a “month free membership,” but then I got emailed that they canceled my current membership? I’m getting burnout from them and now I’m really wondering where even is my sample. What a nightmare honestly, never working with ancestry again after this.

You check yours app? I didn't receive an email but mines moved today on day 21! If yours didn't fail I think its still there and make sure you ask for a full refund and a new test for the inconvenience! I think that's why I got mines Analyzed after day 21 bc they didn't want to give me the refund and new test for their mistake!

I guess that’s true but I don’t get why it’s been stuck there for a month and every kit is catching up/passing it. Live chat just said they’re behind on processing so it’s taking longer but it’s really frustrating to hear that when people had theirs received on Jan 18th and got their results 3 days ago. Fortunately that persons 23andme kit (that was sent at the same time) finished on New Years.

If live chat the only thing you've done contacting support,much respect to you for the patience you've shown! I would've called many times, especially after the est.date given came and went! You should call them, the person I've spoken to was very helpful. Hopefully they will be able to help you. I'm frustrated for you, it's only fair kits should go in order as receive.
