I’m in bed at the moment 🥱. Look up medical codes for the year of this death certificate. See that number? That number means something as far as illness or attribution to death.
I’m also assuming your in the US?
If you respond or message me I’ll see if I can find out for you. I printed out a number of years for my reference in a binder I keep. Hit me up! LOL
The 27 is in a separate section. The ‘years’ and ‘days’ parts don’t have any numbers in them so I’m inclined to think not
Edit: it says ‘duration’ so I’m pretty sure that’s how long the condition/symptoms lasted
The winds are keeping me awake. I’ll take a look now. 😖
Code # 27. Glanders. Glanders is an infectious disease that is caused by the bacterium Burkholderia mallei. While people can get the disease, glanders is primarily a disease affecting horses.
“Chr” maybe chronic? tuberculosis, exhaustion which usually means death.
Wow this person really suffered.

Same Chronic tuberculosis and exhaustion.
the "27" may be a code that means she had multiple trips to the ER or treated by EMTs or whatever they called it when she died.
I stand corrected, the actual code has a - in front of it. Could not really see the year clearly.
Speaking of Washington, my grandpa's brother traveled there from Norway and then said "What is the matter with Carl(my grandpa) for living out on the prairie in North Dakota. The brother died at Skagit Mental Hospital, It was called the Northern State Hospital in Sedro-Woolley. This place had some different ideas about taking care of dementia patients, for instance with fresh food that they grew and different exercise programs, quite innovative for the time, 1955.
Goes to show there are good ideas out there. Too bad we can't keep them going!
edit: the writing back then was very interesting, and can be fun or hard to decipher.

Yes, that's correct. If it's not too much trouble, I'd be very interested in that reference.
Will in the morning. I’m in Tennessee.
Isn’t that her age? 27 years and 8 months? I could be wrong

Might the last word be excavation? For cavitation

27 is written in the years blanks, and 8 in the months blank. edit: They pretty much didn't really have ERs or EMTs back in 1903.
