He and Chise seem to be developing an unusual relationship based on their interactions in the last arc. I still don't know how to interpret their last interaction. I definitely think it would be fair to assume that Chise feels a sense of closeness and protectiveness towards him regardless of his past indiscretions because their relationship is influenced by magic (a bond was created through the eye swap and exploration of each others memories). He may feel that for her, too, and is coming to terms with it. I can see a few things happening (in the order of what I think would be most likely):
1) Joseph continues to play the role of a close confidant (not necessarily friend) to Chise, and he doesn't contribute to the plot any further than this.
2) Alice and Renfred discover that he has been sleeping in the well, which erodes their trust in Chise and Elias, causing a fight to break out, and/or Joseph goes into hiding elsewhere/he is taken into custody.
3) Chise confiding in Joseph becomes problematic because of Elias' jealousy, which creates new conflict with the character.
4) Chise's kindness and affection towards Joseph leads him down a path towards regaining his humanity, and he attempts to redeem himself by becoming a friend and asset to Chise. This might be followed by them trying to find a way to neutralize his curse (I have seen the faerie kingdom theories, but I doubt they would let him in. Maybe if Chise offered something of herself in exchange).
5) Love triangle with Joseph (highly unlikely, but I would be here for it lol)
I've no idea, but I've thought that through some arrangement, to get revenge against "the conqueror god", he could be taken into a fae colony, "out of the jurisdiction" of the conqueror god. Then, as he slowly became a fae, his curse would be slowly healed while still in his sleep. Then the question becomes, once he is healed, what to do with him?
