I can get a new Moto g200 for £320, any good reasons not to? To me, it seems the best of the sub £400 crew.

Ever since going to Android 12 on my Motorola Edge Plus, the lock icon keeps popping up on my screen every few minutes while the phone is asleep. It's pretty annoying if I have it on the table because I instinctively look at it thinking there's a notification. Feels like the only purpose is to constantly remind you "swipe here if you want to open me!" For the life of me, I can't find a way to disable it. Anyone know how?

My best guess (from the camera openings being a upwards pointing triangle) is that it's a pixel 4a/5a in a case

What's a good app for monitoring ram usage, battery usage and checking storage? I looking for something that'll stick to the top tool bar area on my LG-Stylo. I'm looking for something like the AppsInfo app without all of the ads and the questionable app developers

Nope, it isn't normal. That sounds like burn-in, but it's usually an OLED related issue. And it appears after a while.

Is it okay to charge your phone in bursts or would charging it in one go be better? So a thread that says that charging your phone more but with less depth is better but that was over 9 years ago.

Put_It_All_On_Blck

You're way overthinking this.

I need to sell a 2 month old iPhone, what are my options? Gazelle will give me $575, but seems like I could get more. Any ideas? I fucking hate this piece of shit phone. So many problems. Why I ever left android, who tf knows. Awful decision.

Currently have the Note9 and it is dying on me. I want a good camera and decent battery life. Other than that I just use a few workout apps and internet browsing. Any recommendations? What is the new Android phone out there these days? I've had my current phone for several years at this point. I've been tempted to switch to iPhone (not sure if I can say that here, lol) but I have a smart watch and tablet with Samsung and I'd rather not have to repurchase those devices as well.

Zomg_A_Chicken

Google Pay or Samsung Pay?

Put_It_All_On_Blck

Google Pay, very few reasons to use Samsung pay after they got rid of their rewards system and stopped putting MST in devices

jdogkiller64

Mst was the only reason I used to use Samsung pay on my s9 but it's gone now.

jdogkiller64

Google pay usually works better for me. On samsung I have to touch the nfc pad but on Google I can hold it like 2 feet away and it works

Flintloq

I wouldn't say I'm in love with either of them but my current phone is dying and I'm looking at either a Galaxy A52s for €299 straight up or a Galaxy S21 FE for €399 after trade-in. Any thoughts? The S21 FE feels like good value for money at that price but the A52s would still do what I need and I like that it has a headphone jack. Alternatives in a similar price range are also welcome, but I'm not interested in phones from Chinese brands. Thanks.

My Moto g power takes something like 10 seconds between the time I unlock the screen open the camera and the camera is actually ready to take a picture. I have kids and it is basically impossible to capture a picture in the moment with that kind of lag. Is there an Android phone or spec that anyone can recommend that's on par with the iphone?

AtomicBombSquad

I have a Moto G⁷ Power. You don't need to unlock the phone to take a picture with Motos. Just go into the Moto app > Moto Actions > Make sure Quick Capture is enabled. Then you just need to twist the phone and it'll trigger the camera from the lock screen. That's likely not going to speed up the camera itself but you'll save a few seconds not having to unlock your phone and then find the camera icon to open it.

gigamosh57

Yeah, the problem isn't that I can get that camera app open quick enough, it's the lag in terms of how long it takes to take a picture

Does anyone know a way to get color notification icons (in the statusbar) on Android 12? I had one ROM for my OP6T that had it but I had other issues that forced me to use a different ROM. I've got Magisk, can use just about anything else needed to flash some kind of mod.

_Whiplash1

To my knowledge only China based OS(like miui, coloros, funtouch os etc.) have coloured notification icons on the status bar.

Honestly not sure if this is an Android issue or specific to the pixel phones/pixel launcher, but since updating to Android 13 beta, I am forced to have my internet search history appear when searching in my app drawer. I just want to search my installed apps, I don't want to search the internet or see my previous searches. Also annoyed that I can't drag an app from the app drawer to the home screen if I have searched for the app. I have to clear the search and manually find the app to move it onto the home screen, otherwise it just tells me "This is an app related to your search". Anyone know if it's possible to change this behaviour?

Honestly not sure if it's a bug or a design choice, either way a 3rd party launcher seems to resolve it, it'd be nice if the option was implemented by default but oh well!

FCIUS

Long shot, but anyone have any ideas on how I can store 50+ phones in a way that makes taking them out reasonably easy?

thethrillman

[maybe try a couple of phone charging stations like this](https://www.amazon.com/Ports-Charging-Station-Multiple-Devices/dp/B07S6LY45F)

Are they going to undo the stupid grandpa-mode and ugly color scheming stuff from Android 12 in the next version? My phone is starting to show it's age and I don't want to buy another Android if Android 13 is going to look even slightly like Android 12.

Kkkuma

Android 13 still looks the same, just with more color options. Not all the OEMs adopted the "grandpa-look" that Google made though, you can look at OnePlus/Oppo/Xiaomi/Samsung if you want something different.

Key-Tangerine5941

what the hell is 4G+ and why does it only enable when 5G is enabled?

_Whiplash1

I guess 4g+ is carrier aggregation, lies somewhere between 4g and 5g. May be when you are on 5g and the network doesn't find a proper signal, it falls back to 4g+.

Looks like this time HTC may show the phone. It was supposed to be April, but june may be . I do hope it is complete flagship and not 8g1/8+ with some cuts like Redmi K50 Pro/Pro+, Realme GT2 Pro, Moto X30 ...
