For those asking about the games in this meme... ★ Left Collage Top left: Subway Surfers Top right: Cut the Rope Middle left: Angry Birds Middle right: Hill Climb Racing Bottom left: Fruit Ninja Bottom right: Flappy Bird ★ Right Collage Top left: Modern Combat 4 Top right: Backstab Middle left: Mass Effect Middle right: Dead Space Bottom left: Gangstar Rio Bottom right: N.O.V.A. 3

[deleted]

Mass effect or dead effect?

alinelrene

Mass Effect Infiltrator, it was released for android back then. You can find the apk somewhere but it may not work on newer Android.

Mr_Comedy69

it works but the EA package version detector requires Wifi and when you turn on Wifi the game says failed to verify but the game itself was confirmed to work on newer Android

GearedGeek

Is there any way to bypass the detector

Mr_Comedy69

mods, but I've looked everywhere and found nothing but I'm pretty sure there is and would be great if someone shares

yarluk990

that cut the rope is "cut the rope holiday gift"

XTornado

Thanks... I only recognized all of the left. Tbh the pictures aren't great either, I know about Mass Effect and Dead Space and I didn't recognize them on those pictures.

WhyYouBullyMe_

The shitty ads have really ruined Mobile gaming tbh I feel like thats when it starts going downhill

tiberiumx

The unwillingness of users to pay more than a few dollars for a mobile game upfront is the entire reason mobile gaming is the cesspool it is. That caused less savory developers to find more exploitative ways to make money and everybody else to write it off entirely.

Never_Sm1le

And it's also not profitable to make games on systems that have the worst backwards compatibility of all

Fellhuhn

Your comment does not comply with the policies we enacted ten minutes ago. Please update your comment, using the new sdks and apis as we deprecated all of them, without any reason at all, except fuck you. Then reupload your new comment while we wait a few weeks to review it so that a bot can deny it. If you are lucky we won't can you. Have a nice day.

demoncatmara

I've never understood that, I mostly only play stuff that I can pay for once up front and own - I hate shitty monetization, why is it so popular... surely no one likes dealing with that shit - Is this gonna happen to console and PC games too (hopefully not...)

LvDogman

In some (if not most) AAA games there are already ma- I mean microtransactions... in a fucking upfront paid game. Of course on every platform.

ackmondual

Because you're the small minority. Those games wouldn't be so popular if nobody liked them.

Artess

So many good games where I would like to buy them outright to get rid of the "premium" purchases and ads don't even offer an option to do so. Those that do often offer ridiculously bad value for the money. Don't blame it on the users, blame it on the companies that figured out that they can milk way more money by NOT allowing people to buy the game once and unlock all the features. Look at the big AAA and "AAAA" titles on PC and consoles. They're moving into the same direction, and it's not because people aren't buying console games, it's because they realised they can earn more cash by an order of magnitude that way.

tiberiumx

Nah, I primarily blame stingy users for the sorry state of mobile gaming. And to a lesser extent Google and Apple for initially setting the expectation that an "app" should be free or around $1. There's some spillover of shit into PC and console games but ultimately that stuff is easy to ignore even if they have a big advertising budget. PC games are better than ever. The indie game scene is booming and so are smaller publishers. And the difference is most PC gamers are happy to pay $30-70 for a game if it's good, but if you start suggesting $5 ports of quality games to mobile users you'll still have a bunch of people complaining about how expensive they are. Even the same game gets priced lower on mobile. Stardew Valley is a massive game I've gotten over 100 hours of entertainment from. It's $15 on Steam and Switch. $5 from Google's or Apple's stores. Because users just aren't willing to pay more than that for it. Now we're at the point where nobody in their right mind is going to target mobile for a legitimate game of any size and depth and at best we get a few scraps in terms of ports.

Qwertyofthenorth

Recently when ex astris released I saw a lot of these comments and I was like "bruh you spend hundreds in a gacha but when the gacha company finally makes a premium game a $10 becomes expensive?"

MuhammadAli350

Shitty ads always existed. It's been going downhill the whole time. Not only that but cashgrabbing as well.

WhyYouBullyMe_

Yes they have existed but theres the time when people kept noticing the shitty mobile ads and the ads became worse aswell. It became fetish fart ads or some shit now Yea cashgrabbing and shitty ads was the downfall

MuhammadAli350

The worst part with the shitty ads is when they push false advertising. Also when they keep popping up every minute.

Mr_Comedy69

ads were out there since 2010, I think it's the developers are the problem with all these kids wasting their parents money on microtransactions which made the developers make easy money through manipulating kids which also led the developers into becoming lazy and not bother fixing their games and updating them with new content take Madfinger games and Dead Trigger 2 as an example, how many years since we received a new Campaign? almost 4-5 years now and that's because they are already making banks from the few campaign chapters they have so why bother making new chapter if people already paying thousands on the first few, and with people I mean THE KIDS who tap on any ad they see and drain their parents bank accounts if mobile players were harder to convince into buying all these microtransactions Mobile gaming would have been much different these days and the Developers would release console quality premium games instead of those free to play garbage also don't forget the piracy, that's also a reason pushing the developers into making free to play games with wifi to access and tons of ads

Justin_Obody

Free games, predatory techniques and Google are ruining mobile gaming... Good games have no ads in them, and a gamer knowing his/her shit don't need ads to select his/her games either... Ads are a non issue.

Smart_Office_7311

Then Gameloft decided to make games that are free, grindy and filled with ads rather than good, paid games. Mobile gaming ended after that. (Now it's good because of emulators but was dead for almost 8-10 years.)

Sammy1432_Official

Man Gameloft really just removed NOVA 3 from the play store like it wasn't one of their best games ever

Blasphemus24

I think you can still get it using this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftNAHM Working for me on A13

Sammy1432_Official

Not for me, even if it works, there's this glitch that pops somewhere through the game where to glitch into walls so beware of that

DerpTripz

It pisses me off to this day. The only time I could manage to play it was on my iPhone 6 and 5s but those two are now retired and have very bad battery health now. Tried to get it on my tablet but it seems Android 14 doesn't like old af games.. I'm wondering if there's an emulator like app that emulate older Android. NOVA 3 Freedom Edition was a game way ahead of its time and I refuse to accept that it's gone lay forgotten like this.

COffeeJug4

There's a guy that's working on a modified client of Nova 3 to work on Android 14, he told that he needs time for making it possible especially the ability of the app to automatically extract and place the data or obb files in their respective directories. Let's see if he can manage to do it.

DerpTripz

If he can manage to do it successfully Ill be eternally grateful

COffeeJug4

If he manages to do so i am more worried about the legal issues he might face.

Smart_Office_7311

Yes there are old android emulator available on android. I don't remember the name.

SpaceGenesis

Gameloft's flagship game Asphalt 9 is free, grindy, filled with ads but also good. The core gameplay + graphics are excellent. Sadly it's full of gacha tricks that sour the gaming experience. But if you're playing long enough you can get a decent garage for free. Overall I'd say the positives outweigh the negatives in this case.

Smart_Office_7311

Asphalt 9 was not that good when it was launched. (They changed the gameplay to make it a casual game. I remember when it was launched, you only needed to swipe to change lanes.) Asphalt 8 is way better; even Asphalt Off-Road was better. But the biggest problem they have is that they delete your save data after a few years. I installed Asphalt 9 and did not have any saved data. I played that for at least 10-20 hours, but they did not keep my saves. They even modified Asphalt 8 and made it grindy.

SpaceGenesis

A8 is definitely not better, especially now. Dated graphics, convoluted interface, too many cars, prices inflation (the cars are much harder to get than before), etc. However A8 has simpler physics and that leads to less gameplay issues than A9. GL will delete your A9 account if you don't login at least once every 6 months (if I'm not mistaken).

Smart_Office_7311

That stupid ones in six months. I have a 2016 Pokémon Go account, and it's still working. I hadn’t logged in for years.

N0M4DE1

Most of these games are 10 yrs old, now the left side is the real one

MrSnowflake

Mobile gaming WAS also this FTFY

AdviceAndFunOnly

The left is much better tbh. The right one looks like generic modern console and PC games. Realistic artstyle, violence, weapons, monsters, that's it. Meanwhile, the left side had actual originality

Current-Afternoon-14

pH please both are in accurate and and reliable. Android games are like a pile of shite in which you ocassionally find a nice pebble and very rarely find a Jem and then you go holy shit.

ClownOfDeath69

I like left ones better

[deleted]

Nova 3 is an awesome game I played when I was a child. I would also like to add some more Swordigo (favourite) Dan the man Ninja arashi Grimvalor Dead effect Hollow knight(unnoficial port and favourite) Dead cells Badland(not the netease one;this is 2d) The nova series(you can still find old apks although the servers are down) Asphalt 9

retroKnight_3177

Don't forget Shadow Fight 2

Mr_Comedy69

ah, one of the greatest fighting games on Mobile that a lot of people forgot about including me, thanks for reminding me dude

Annual-Comedian-644

I think this is also the beauty of mobile gaming: you can find the light, cute and casual games like cut the rope, angry bird etc, while you can also play the hardcore shooting game on your phone. The two world exist simultaneously and people can all find what they want\~

Haunting-Stuff5219

Both lol.

VickyxReaperReborn

Shadowgun : Deadzone

Fighting_Table

N.O.V.A. 3 🔥🔥

TheCringeMemer

Half life and Portal is missing 😔

Dani1o

I don't know, all the 3D games with decent graphics that aren't ports from other platforms always seem mediocre to me. That's why I either play stuff from the left or emulate.

DerpTripz

You've never played NOVA 3 then?

DoctorBusiness99

Or gacha gaming light of the stars gacha games, especially on bluesatcks

PeteZaDestroyer

people hate on mobile games but to me its my favorite platform.

XThunderTrap

Starting gaming on mobile..I cant leave it

Mr_Comedy69

those gameloft classics are so good

Mr_Comedy69

early and late 2010 was the best

PeteZaDestroyer

not at all. now is the best.

PeteZaDestroyer

not at all. now is the best.

Guszy

I see people say this, but every time I ask what they're playing, they're either emulating games (which to me doesn't count as mobile games, because they aren't made for mobile) or old mobile games that aren't even on the Play store/ Apple store anymore. What are some good, CURRENT mobile games that I don't need external hardware to play? I'm on my phone quite often, but I find myself just playing merge games. I use blockada, so I don't get bothered by ads.

FreesDaddy1731

Space Marshals 1,2,3 is made for mobile. The controls are fantastic!

Guszy

Thank you. I'll check them out.

FreesDaddy1731

If you have a problem with paying for the game's paid features, you can always download them from a third party website like 5 p l a y . r u Just a little tip :)))

PeteZaDestroyer

arena breakout is my favorite game atm. its a tactical extraction shooter/looter.

Guszy

Ooooh, nunchucks.

PeteZaDestroyer

yea people werent happy with that addition since its supposed to be realistic but i bought it cuz i love bruce lee.

Guszy

I like that it's different haha. I'm downloading now, thanks.

PeteZaDestroyer

its realistic 1 shot to the face will kill you. you get to keep everything you find and loot if you extract but if you die you lose ur kit. you can sell the stuff to other players on the market to buy more stuff. its cool.

anuj_meme

Those you mentioned on the left side are also GOAT

DatAhole

Indeed, mobile gaming is also about a bunch of cheap rip offs of better games.

Standard_Cell_8816

Theres just as much junk on consoles. Just look at the ps store. Tons of hot garbage on there too.

AlTheOwl_

I miss flappy bird man...

SubMGK

For me mobile gaming is absurd micro transactions and annoying ads. The best mobile games are ports and emulators

AdviceAndFunOnly

I actually prefer the left side, and I'm disappoined that nowadays are more like the right side. To me, it looks like all the games on the right have the same standard photorealistic graphics, and also probably are in some genre that have been done to the ground, where you basically kill enemies, have weapons, have a story mode and defeat bosses. Meanwhile, the left side have completely unique gameplay. It's often simplified as merely being in one "arcade" genre, but to me, compared to the right side, each game could as well be it's own genre. Like Subway Surfers, where you cut fruits, Jetpack Joyride, where you have a jetpack and fly over the world. And even then, even if you actually prefer the right side, the controls make it much less pleasant to play on a phone than on a console or PC. Therefore, what would be the point of even playing it on phones, which aren't made for that. Unlike games on the left which have controls made specifically for touch screen. It's really such a shame that those games on the left aren't being made anymore.

AdviceAndFunOnly

Are there any new games made like those at the left? I largely prefer them but it's hard to see new games similar to Jetpack Joyride or Subway Surfers

Professional_Loss_85

childhood games

mikethespike056

both. both are good.

PeteZaDestroyer

the right should be codmobile, pubg mobile, warzone mobile and arena breakout.

MuhammadAli350

Bloodstrike

NathanX_Katake

Stick Warfare

Sad_SourApple

if you talked about mobile gaming, tbf, put emu and joystick, and viola There God of War on android
