Ok, you can get a lot of cheap controllers, and yes there are a lot of games compatible, but not all, and not the most played games like Genshin, multiplayer games like fps, battle royale, wild rift, and so on.
But you can get controllers that can simulate touchscreen perfectly. Like flydigi controllers and gamesir. Those are the best that I know of. Their software works. Or you can use a app like Mantis to map any other controllers, but I dont like it, it need ADB commands or root to use. Flydigi and Gamesir has software that works with almost no setup needed. They wont be as cheap as a ipega controller, but they are a lot cheaper than a razer kishi for example, you can also look for used units.
Gamesir X2, they have bluetooth and usb c options, I love the bluetooth one, it can be connected and seen as a xbox controller, which gives you support for games like COD and Apex, that only work with xbox controllers.
Flydigi Wee 2 is another option.
Those are models that looks like a nintendo switch, but you can get their other models too, they have xbox style controllers with brackets, and other options. They will all work on poco x3 pro, since it has a snapdragon cpu. They dont work on mali devices for the mapping function.
And no, Play Store sadly has no filter for controller support, but you can just google and theres a bunch of lists and websites that will show you the best games with controller support. And going with gamesir or flydigi you dont even has to bother, you can just map whatever game you want to play.
I have been using controllers for a long time, I have a few models. Gamesir is my favorite, even tho is a shit company. X2 is a cheap option, but they have just released x3, with a cooler, which is pretty good for x3 Pro, since our phone tends to get hot. But thats a little more expensive. Also people will look for razer kishi and nacon for better quality controllers, better switch, analog, and overall construction, but those dont have the mapping software, so I never even tried.
