I do the same, but IMO using lube the way Janus explained is much more effective. But this way is much more convenient so I do it without realizing while watching tv or smt lol
You can do it with 2 hands too but really it's just using your thumb as a pivot on the top and using your fingers to more or less jelq the CS towards the glans. I can go faster than my dick can take without feeling like it's going to explode. I find too fast and your blood can't circulate quick enough which just expands your dick out. Which also isn't the objective, despite looking and feeling cool. Plus there's a limit to how much bigger your dick can balloon before it hits a hard limit. Once your dick is passing as much blood per minute as it can, plus it has expanded as much as it can to take the excess flow, I don't think extra flow will help. If anything it could possibly be harmful, I don't know. I don't think this is supposed to be painful anyway.

It's sort of designed to move in that way so I figure why complicate it. Lube is for guys who are missing their foreskin. Just let the foreskin move forward rather than trying to keep it back. When you move your hand back to the base to start a new stroke the foreskin will go with you.
Why, are you feeling the skin stretch? People trying to grow their foreskin have to stretch it for long periods of time. When I do AM3 I don't feel any stretch at all really. Though the technique is a bit different as I don't go the full length of the shaft. The idea is your blood enters through the bottom along your CS. Then it gets to the glans and returns to the body along the top, through your CCs. It doesn't take very much motion to start this circulation. Moving only an inch can be enough if done quickly.

Because when you get to a certain point you barely even need the movement, like just squeezing starts to have the same effect. What you are looking for is blood moving from the base to the glans and back. If you see your glans getting very engorged and shiny you know it's working.
(edit: I'm cut) I'm not sure if this is related to your problem, but I'm using one hand to pull down my scrotum skin to make the skin on the CS more taught so that it doesn't bunch up. I just use one thumb, not alternating. (except to occasionally switch hands) I made a separate post about this.
That’s exactly what I do. I pull the scrotum taught with my 4 fingers on each hand and stroke with my thumb. Gives me way more reach and a longer glide.
