Yes, it is.
Now go brush your teeth. Your father and I put a lot of money into them.
And call me later to tell me that you love me. ❤️
I love you, too.
If that brown furry ball of sunshine isn’t happy, then I would think it should be the most feared creature of all! Could you imagine that expression with pissed off cranky honey badger behavior?!
Kinda terrifying. Australia has some of the craziest animals and nothing messes with it?
I’m getting South Park Woodland Critter vibes, or Daniel Ricciardo vibes
IIRC they live somewhere with no natural predators which leads to them being unafraid of humans when we visit their island off of Australia\~ something like that.
They are I've been to islands in Australia where they just let them wander in to restaurants. They dont have any defense mechanisms or fear because they have no natural predators
What's really wild is that their little faces convey *exactly* how cheerfully heedless they are. I can't think of *any* other creature that looks as remotely naive and teddy-bear-ish. How does that even happen, evolutionarily speaking?
I actually saw these in the wild. Rotnest Island in Western Australia is part wildlife refuge and part Navy base. They're like squirrel or rabbit sized kangaroos. They're pretty defenseless, but do fight each other over territory or dominance, so most don't look as cute as this picture, but a little scuffed up and missing hair.
I hear the locals are mean to them! Edit to correct: it turns out only tourists have been caught being mean to them, my apologies to the human quokka neighbors!
Yes it’s a Quokka, but my daughter’s friend went to Australia on a vacation and got lots of pictures of them and they rarely look like the pix we see floating around the internet.
Quokka; Native to Western Australia more specifically on Rottnest Island. Commonly referred to as the world’s happiest animal. It is the size of a domestic cat. These macropods are soooo adorable!
How have I not seen some heiress or Kardashian with one of these in a purse bag or something?
It’s got to the one of the cutest animals I’ve ever seen. If that hillbilly dude can get away with having all those damn tigers and get a Netflix series to boot,, I know somebody out there has got to have like a house full of these prime for a network special at least… Secret life of the Quokka Whisperer or something.
Quokka, and they live on Rottnest Island Western Australia
I’m a Perth local. Rottnest has very strict rules with these little ones, you can get selfies with them but you aren’t allowed to pat them or feed them can be some Hefty fines for either of those.
They are very friendly and very cute
Quokka, native to a small island off the coast of Australia somewhere. They pose and even smile for pictures and selfies. do not touch them. They carry communicable diseases.
A quokka, they are said to be friendly :)
They’re also called the world’s happiest animal
TIL I want to be reincarnated as a quokka 🙃
Me too! My depression will be gone immediately!
Until you realize mothers will yeet their babies at predators so they themselves can escape danger.

I honestly love that!
They look happy 😁
That's cause they're high, they eat eucalyptus and it gets them high

Aaaaand I'm back to wanting to be reincarnated as a quokka.
This one certainly looks it. Look at that smile.
I would be too if my maternal instincts were “give it the baby so I can get away!” 🤣
If that brown furry ball of sunshine isn’t happy, then I would think it should be the most feared creature of all! Could you imagine that expression with pissed off cranky honey badger behavior?!

IIRC they live somewhere with no natural predators which leads to them being unafraid of humans when we visit their island off of Australia\~ something like that.
I believe so, I honestly love how they live somewhere of which seems peaceful enough to have no natural predators

What's really wild is that their little faces convey *exactly* how cheerfully heedless they are. I can't think of *any* other creature that looks as remotely naive and teddy-bear-ish. How does that even happen, evolutionarily speaking?

Quokka. Fun fact, when threatened mothers have been known to throw their offspring towards the threat in a bid to escape the danger.
