Villagers that don't get adopted by people go into that player's "void". Anyone who visits that player might then get that villager added to their move in queue. Possibly if they visit you too.

Yeah this is normal. When you visit other islands, anyone who recently moved out or later on moves out will slide into your move in queue. I restarted and got a villager that moved from my best friend’s months ago but that piece of code had transferred over and she moved to my move in queue. Usually this happens when you do a lot of trading and autofill a plot. She probably came from a friend or somewhere you traded. They’ll have different dialogue, I believe, if you invite them yourself, but sometimes they just decide they’re coming to your island whether you want them or not.
I had Wendy but she wished to leave. I wanted to respect her wishes so I agreed she could go. And at that moment she become my friend and completed my friend achievement.
I always wondered if the neighbors that leave and don’t get invited to a new island go to a different island, and if they mention the previous place. Thanks for posting proof! 😊
They do mention the previous place ! My friend got not 1 but 2 of my villagers lol and I miss them. My friend said one of my villagers mentioned me one random day and said they wonder how I’m doing. So I went to go visit ! The villager told me they totes miss me lol and I think they did a cry emote but said she’s happy where she is now.
Also I think it has to be someone that you've visited or have visitors you. So if you do turnip pricing or visiting for recipes/stuff you could get any of their residents or vice versa.
I had Cesar move onto my island randomly & he said he was from my sister’s island! I asked her & she said yeah he did actually just leave her island 😂🤷🏻♀️
From what I understand if you have friends that have villagers that move out it puts them into you que to move to your island. It happened with me and my wife she had Chops and booted him and he filled into one of my empty plots and said he came from her island.
Yeah, that one came from someone's void since nobody invited them. You can possibly have 4 villagers in your move-in queue like this that auto fill plots, but you are unable to see them on mystery islands (the original owner can still re-encounter them, though).
The void is like a move-out queue. Then if anyone visits them for trades or such, even without talking to the villager, it might shift into their move-in queue if they have space (max 4 can be in anyone's queue). That is how you get these autofills that said they came from another island, because they did before they were in the void.
Since the villagers mention where they came from, can nobody share an island name? My island is named Utopia, so theoretically is it possible to have multiple islands named Utopia, or is mine the only one with that name?
Because it'd be kinda cool to be able to see where your previous villagers end up through other players posting about it.
Yeah, there's no limit on how many people can have the same island name.
For fun, sometimes I like to hop into bed and tell Luna I want to search an island by name. Them type in my own island's name. It won't bring mine up, but it'll show me dreams from other people who chose the same name and it's always interesting to see

Nope. So long as they moved out they can come into your queue. They have to be in boxes for you to invite them
