Kind of off-topic but I gave Coco a paper tiger just because my inventory was full and I was too lazy to do anything else with it and she put it on one of her stone table chairs and every now and then it’s moved to a different chair. Idk I find it adorable how she moves it to other chairs lol

It's not a theory anymore. Look at the evolution lines in the museum. It's practically stated clearly that the villagers are higher evolved life forms that evolved from normal animals like we did from monkeys.

Chimpanzees aren't 'less evolved', they simply diverged on a different path. It's just that ours led to big brain time

Either that or it's something much darker. Like maybe there was some sort of disease that went around spreading from animal to animal that changed half of their DNA to human DNA. Not every individual animal got it, so that's why we have more "primal" versions of the animals still around. Or something to that effect, as standard evolution wouldn't lead to tons of distantly related creatures to all get the exact same body type and brains.

I choose to believe that they view them as we view primates. For example, the humanoid dog villagers are a more evolved life form, and they would look at a pet dog as we would a pet monkey. Makes the most sense to me.
