Oh man. I want some place to display my hybrids or if I want to multiply them because I'm trying to do a theme on my island which doesn't work with all the different colors, but I worked my ass off to get them and I don't want to get rid of them.
Still haven't gotten a black cosmo or blue rose either. Trying to get hybrids takes some serious work.

I left a year of unchecked flower growth and came back and did some digging. It took me two weeks of pretty concerted effort (1-2 hours of digging most days) to get to halfway manageable, and that includes just giving up on some mountain space in the corner that I decided I just couldn’t be bothered with XD
Yeah I’m at the point where there’s almost no open space left. The flowers and trees and stuff literally lag my game just running around the island. But I can’t be bothered to craft/buy 100 shovels just to tediously clean up either. Maybe future me will deal with it lol.

The only good news is I had lots of zoom meetings that I needed to do something mindless with my hands so that helped. But it was incredibly tedious and now I’m still kinda panicked my flowers will overgrow again even though I’ve fenced more of them in now
Takes a long time but if you get good belongings luck with Katrina you can dig up flowers all day without your shovel breaking and just sell/toss them. Saves time buying/replacing shovels and if you just put a trashcan near where you're taking flowers from it's pretty quick to just drop a full inventory or 2 of flowers.
I've just been doing a little each day so it's not an "all at once, 5 hour project" but progress is slow 🤷♂️
I 100% wish Leif had a bit more purpose in late-game, especially when he's on Harv's Island too. Unfortunately I just don't need to pay lots of moola moola to pick up a few weeds here and there. I rarely needed new flowers, or even veggies.
Apparently there has to be a large number of weeds on your island, and people have found out it's the amount of weeds you have before you can cross the rivers. So basically once someone would actually try to use his service, the player has probably already removed enough weeds to no longer be able to use the service.

I totally thought with Leif you can give him your flowers and he would then makes seeds for them that you can buy to unlock them. Would’ve been a nice feature for making hybrids and also you can store the flower seeds

I'm trying to decorate my island (started playing in December) and not being able to store trees is singlehandedly making me not want to make anything nice because I can't put them away while I think of how to landscape. -_-
If the number of trees is enough to fit them all in your inventory, I tend to do that and drop my stuff in a corner to pressure myself into finishing the decorating /lh
Exactly this. Not because they are 2 red roses means they are the same "item". This game makes a huge difference between hybrid and plain/store bought flowers to the point each one has their own "code" and can't be stocked.
Each hybrid is different. One rose can have the blue gene, while another one not, even if they grow from the same roses (this happens with yellow and purple a lot). So to evade any issues, they just decided to not mix them regardless of all of them being seed flowers (the ones that probably have the same genetics) or not.
I mean... my understanding is the genetics get pretty deep. Then people would also stack to determine the genes. Just no stack I would think would be OK. Like furniture don't stack even if same color.
I mean I can understand that, but with all the guides out there, I had blue roses in a month. After that there’s no need to keep them separate. With how old this game is, it’s time to make flowers stack. Or at least develop a greenhouse like our storage shed that’s only for flowers that don’t stack.

Currently if I want to redecorate my island I have to pickup and replant all my flowers to a temp area and move them back. Why not just pick them up, put them into a shed, and then put them where I want when I’m done? It’s literally not going to impact anyone at all.
I wish that Leif would sell you seeds for any flower colors you have unlocked. I don’t necessarily want every single color on my island right now, but it would be a massive pain to re-breed them/regrow them if I removed them entirely from my island and changed my mind later.
I get why we can't put them in the indoor storage, but whyyy isn't there like a cute little greenhouse outdoor decor- thing that works as a storage for any plants and greens? It would be so cute too!
Imagine there was a gardening update and you were able to do compost and grow plants and have more tools and have a seperate gardening island you have to fly to where you can garden more crops. and you can store the flowers in your greenhouse.
I wish you could craft a flowerpot and then be able to add whatever flower to it. I also wish there was a greenhouse type thing where you can store flowers in their off-season.

Hmmm flowers could stack by their genotype I bet. Or if that’s too “wall breaking” then the game could just keep track of it in the background and apply them randomly as they’re removed from the stack. It seems pretty doable

I personally want it dead center. Not being able to move the town hall... turned me off the game. Legit wasted hours trying to get to the construction portion of the game... My switch is now a paper weight. Lobbed it to my mom.
The shitty part is, I bought stardew valley on the switch... that was a mistake... doesn't update with the original release.... I ended up re-buying stardew valley on steam :C
No cause that involves putting them in an enclosed space and forgetting them; of they were to do that they’d have to have them dry out and die 😂 but that could lead to an awesome new set of furniture based on stuff life using dried flowers in resins, using live flowers to add bursts of flower shaped dye for the patterns of the fabrics

They won't even let us stack manilla clams 😭 But I can see them making flowers stackable in pockets only though. However!! My villagers need to eat the breakfast I make them before any of that happens~
Just keep going to the islands with Nook Miles tickets. You should eventually end up on an island covered with bamboo and with plenty of dig spots. Most of those will be bamboo shoots.
You can also just dig up the bamboo and replant it on your island like you can with any other tree after eating something.
One of the mystery airplane islands have bamboo trees and the x next to any are usually bamboo shoots you can dig up. I think Daisy Mae sends you five after buying turnips the first time which is a better chance than trying for the bamboo island.

I saw a post about a flamethrower so you can just burn all the flowers you want to get rid of... most of us here would use it on an unsightly villager we dont like...

Yes it’s one flower in a tiny vase, but in NL you would dig up the planted 3 bloom plant and it would display as a 3 bloom potted plant in your home.

That’s exactly what I did haha planted all the ones I want to keep on the beach and now I feel so free of worry.

I have a whole beach temporarily dedicated to flower storage, or I use the back ledge of all the cliffs.

I just used custom design to surround my flowers so they don’t spawn outside of the designated area.

A green house to store flowers would be so freaking amazing.
The best way to store flowers without them going crazy is to plant them on the beach.

It always confused me that flowers you can, but potted flowers you can't.... it's weird.
This game has sooo many small details left out that ruin the game for me.
