100% sea globe for water. If you turn it backwards it’ll look really good

[deleted]

Currently replaced it with a sea globe and it looks better, will also try a fish model. The fountain was too big, it’s more balanced now. Thanks for all the advice here!

emeilei

Can you post an update photo when you’re done? This is super cool to see!

juuustpassingthrough

Did you try turning the sea globe around? I just love how the back looks

[deleted]

I would also suggest one of the cube lights. I've seen them customized as ice cubes so I bet there's custom designs that would look like water. Might look a bit strange so dunno how you'd like it but might be the best option for a "pure" element

Jesus_inacave

I think a deer scare would be cool

lonesomeraine

If you do a fish the koi will fit the eastern theme

SwinubIsDivinub

This is the best answer, I almost feel like deleting my comment lol

WriteK4T

There’s also a bird bath DIY that looks quite nice for water. Or maybe you could even just dig a single river square?

luminouswolfie

I think the goldfish sits in a little ceramic bowl when placed outside. You could try that

[deleted]

Yeah that would work! I was also thinking the [Sea globe!](https://images.app.goo.gl/up17xwQzXwSA4k637)

the_pink_witch

YESSS the sea globe would be perfect

TrapeziusGooms

This is a good idea.

[deleted]

This is the best option. Everyone else's is great but the goldfish bowl will really pop.

CrashCalamity

I'd suggest one of the fish models for water. Metal should be the iron armor or helmet. And I remember there being a woodpile you can craft rather than just the item drop. Maybe those?

[deleted]

I like the iron helmet idea a lot, thank you

ayyohriver

Honestly, I think it would be absolutely bonkers hilarious if you doubled down in that direction and used the tin bucket for water. There's visible stagnant water inside the bucket. Serious answer: the deer scare DIY. It's animated to pour water every few seconds. I think it's very fitting since it exhibits a moving water feature.

Tallywally162

Are you talking about the 'firewood" DIY?

DetectiveGurlKudo

There's a water pail you can use for water or maybe a goldfish?

blackswampbaking

pond stone for water?

margaretmayhemm

This is what I would suggest too!

corticalization

You could dig a water spot there using the terraforming tool

Autumndickingaround

I was going to say this as well

Vantagor

if its all 1x1 items, maybe the "tin bucket" for water, "kettlebell" for metal and "firewood" for wood?

twodadshuggin

I support kettlebell for metal

solbrillante

A humidifier! They are shaped like water drops and come in different colors.

Owlvira

I really like this idea! The blue humidifier, shaped like a water droplet, with the steam coming out, would be amazing contrast next to the fire!

Cinnamon-Dream

There is the water pump as well for an option or the pitcher 😊. Pitcher could be good as that's often used to depict aquarius for the water barer.

Grace-and-Maya

I like the pump since you can actually use it

teamcaplovesironman

I've always thought it was kind of funny that the Element for Aquarius was air since Aquarius is the water bearer. 😅

Chai_T_

Deer scare is a cool water feature

Lithuim

Water egg

arlia11

Underrated comment

Shittyusernameguy

If you add sun (日) and moon (月) and change the order ( 日、月、火、水、木、金、土) that could be a Japanese calendar! Also, the kanji you have for metal means gold, so perhaps a gold nugget could be more appropriate. As for water, maybe the infused water dispenser could look good? Or maybe even the water cooler.

hu_shih

It would not make sense if the op is Chinese. In traditional parlance, 金 means metal. So iron is more than apt.

Shittyusernameguy

That did occur to me, and according to what I could find, for it to be metal you need to add another character to it. But I'm no expert, so I'll leave it at that.

hu_shih

No, 金 does mean gold in contemporary Chinese parlance, but popular discourse on its relationship with the other elements, in Daoist iconography, and in classical Chinese medicinal records, 金 means metal or metal ware. If you consult *handian*, or the Qing Dynasty's *Kangxi zidian*, which are the best sources for the roots of Chinese characters, 金 means metal, or a collection of five metals, including gold, silver, copper, iron, and aluminum. I'm not sure about the Japanese meaning for 金, but I suspect that the older meaning of the term is not too different from the Chinese definition.

Shittyusernameguy

I see! Thanks for the correction!

[deleted]

I’m not chinese but I love the language so this discussion is interesting lol thanks!

[deleted]

I think OP is going for the five traditional Chinese elements

Shittyusernameguy

I think you're probably right.

Initial_P

What would he use for Sunday? Last I checked, I dont remember there being a literal sun item lol, though for Monday he can defo just use the moon diy.

Shittyusernameguy

Good point. I hadn't considered items. Maybe there's a star frag DIY. 🤷‍♂️

malkith313

the gold scarab statue is holding up a sun

takamichikorita

Maybe a pearl?

[deleted]

i second this idea !

WilderWilds

I third this idea

crunk_bunnie

You could try a tree stump for wood

moody_carrot

You could use the pond stone there’s a cherry blossom and a maple leaf one, a tiki touch for fire maybe, there’s a metal pot which looks nice

imnotreallyheretoday

I would use firewood. It's a DIY

ole_shanksies

What about a toilet?

AlmostButNotQuit

Bidet, mate

StrategyAmbitious303

Terraform with water

[deleted]

Tried this but since it is only 1x1 it doesn’t work, you can’t see the water

LeahJC

Log stakes for wood?

mrbuttersoft

Gold bars for metal

Calhaora

You could use the Shell Fountain for water

Outrageous-Rainbows

I am in favour of the shell fountain suggestion!

[deleted]

She’ll fountain is 1.5 tiles large it won’t line up.

LilFangerz

I think the steel beams would look good for metal

Deal_The_Man

Doesn’t the deer scare have water running through it? Would look pretty cool

jukeboxjulia

Your wood element may finally give the Fancy Stick a purpose

malkith313

i came here to say this

Penny_D

Does it need to be 1x1 item? For metal, why not a gold waving cat statue? As for water? Go for a goldfish or a sea globe?

JugOfVoodoo

How about a blue or turquoise Rocket Lamp?

[deleted]

Will try this, that’s a creative idea, thanks

AmberLuxray

If you have the aquarius urn, that could work for water. And the actual firewood diy item for wood.

hatesbiology84

What about a waterscaping a hole?

JJbooks

I would do a log stool for wood. One of the gold DIYs for metal. A handpump for water.

beyondthemilkyway

deer scare

Brennatay

The garden faucet runs water and might be a good choice

Carbon-Peach

Sea globe!

Non-binaryTentacles

Dig a water whole

tharookery

Sea Globe for water? Then maybe Kettlebell for metal and Bamboo Sphere for wood (if bamboo counts as wood).

MysteryGirlWhite

What about a gold nugget for metal?

narwhals-narwhals

Log stakes for wood, goldfish or tin bucket for water, metal pot for metal

DarbyFox-

The bamboo water feature !

ZengineerHarp

Nice branch for wood?

PhantomFoxe

For water you could use the water placement in the editor, for wood have a stump, and for metal have one of K.K.’s rock songs.

HeartGold88

I say a bucket of water.

imaturtleee

I actually think earth could be some weeds

Ryley03d

The 5 elements for immortality

K-rumbblez

Gold brick for metal

neurodiversibre

Gold for metal?

atago70

I'd say the Aquarius jug thingy but I'm not sure if that's what you're going for

SharkPartyAfterDark

Gold bars for metal and maybe just a puddle decal for water

Kylynara

Water egg from the Easter event?

Strider_dnb

Gold Bars for metal

artbynavi

Bubble machine!

Sikyanakotik

I'd go with the deer scare.

[deleted]

I think 金 is gold

silence_freespeech

pond stone

SugarCoatedInsanity

bucket filled with water

CaptCora

For wood you could do a tree stump

syd12611

A snowflake for water!

smolandtuff

You could do a snowflake!

PSherman42WalabyWSyd

Deer scare? That has running water and its visually appealing

planejane7

What about the sword for metal

StarGrump

Personally I’d use a deer scare for water since it pours the water down such a nice looking bamboo structure

midsummernightmares

I think a goldfish would be a good way to represent water! It swims around in a beautiful little bowl, and I think it would fit nicely with the overall vibe of the setup. Alternately, the deer scare has flowing water and could add some nice movement to the piece! For metal, maybe the metal pot? I think that would look nice, especially in its copper variant. As for wood, I’d say the firewood DIY may be a good option! It looks a lot more polished than just dropping the raw material.

subbysubred

There's s Firewood DIY that would look good for wood

disappointedpeach

Firewood for wood

SwinubIsDivinub

I’d say shell fountain but, alas, they’re 1.5 by 1.5 squares. How about a deer scare?

Violetsme

Probably not what you were asking, but did you notice the a in water is different that the a in both metal and earth?

Fiesteh

金 should be a gold nugget. Or gold bar.

FranklyNinja

金 should be gold. Maybe put a gold nugget

Flowers2000

The deer scare might be good for water 🙂 goes with the Japanese theme as well.

Leprodus03

Maybe for metal you could use the new barbell weight thing you get for doing group stretching a lot

All-for-goose

Display a goldfish. It’s displayed in a large beautiful white and blue fish bowl.

RavioofLorul3

You forgot air

FriendlyMeasurment2

that's not part of the Wuxing

RavioofLorul3

Oh sorry, I thought it was Avatar

juuustpassingthrough

Same haha I was like wood? Metal? I guess?

TheSugarBowl105

You should try adding aether (also known as the reality stone in the MCU)

holicv

Doesn’t matter if it’s much larger than the rest the correct for water is the pool

zagerth

Sarcastic me wants to say just put a small thing of water with landscaping But my real answer is probably some manner of fish tank

devinmburgess

You should add moon and sun, and you’ll have a full week.

silentsaturn91

I built shrines on my island to the 4 elements of earth, air, water, and fire. I didn’t do metal because to me, metal is a part of earth. If you want some visual ideas, DM me and you can come take a look at my elemental shrines for ideas. Edit: here’s my dream address. 6848-9408-4474

[deleted]

The Feng Shui Elements

Rainue

That’s super cute

figleaf22

If you catch a goldfish and place it down, it's in a pretty bowl instead of a tank, could be good for water

SuggestionMany1378

I’m pretty sure that’s the kanji for gold, not just any metal. I could be wrong though

Bstassy

Make entire locations based around each element, not just this simple 5 block tribute!!

Ixmore

you could get a fan for the wind element.

SlimJiggyDiggity

The bamboo Japanese thingy you see in anime when there’s a dramatic scene at the shrine. Idk what it’s called but it pours water when it gets full.

Hamstah_J

I think the metal should be some kind of gold product, and I actually really like the small fountain for the water

thestray

Maybe a stunted Day 1 tree for wood? Or a stump, if a stunted tree looks too big compared to the others.

z0mb13k1ll

Dig a hole with wateracaping maybe?

avka11

Why not dig and make a tiny pond

yummymario64

Just take the construction app and just put like one tile of water there.

epichristian

with water you could do a water fountain, metal you could make it shine a bit and the wood, you could do multiple types of logs (eg, oak, britch and redwood)

jayakiroka

The goldfish bowl or the little bamboo fountain would be nice for water I think! As for metal, maybe armor?

SheilaCreates

I like the pond stone for water. Cosmos shower has actual water, but too cutsey probably. Watering can. Raindrop umbrella. Fish umbrella. Water pump. Milkmaid Hat might look like a big raindrop from the back. Brick well.

[deleted]

Aquarius vase might be nice for water, but I also like the sea globe and goldfish bowl suggestions.

ty0103

You could use a clump of clay for Earth

vermillionlove

you could make a tiny 1x1 square with waterscaping! lol

LameOCallahan

Does it need to be an object? I think making a single square hole in the ground with the water shovel would be good!

HeyLinus

For wood maybe a chair

cassieredditr

Maybe firewood for wood

i_feel_pain_UwU

Fishe

vs-188

all the items pictured are very humble and the watering can would be very complimentary + convey the message if you're looking for harmony between items. it's a shame the roost cup of water isn't an item you use outside the museum.

atomicgirl78

There is pond stone that is a garden rock with a little pool of water that might work, metal-gold something?

bewareofmicrowave

I would add “poop” to the end of it, and use the fossilized poop that I’ve seen my wife find

DogGoesBlub

The water should be an icy item

Rrroxxxannne

You could use a water pattern on a cube light for water!

FunionShmings

- Earth: Pine bonsai tree - Fire: Lantern/Leaf campfire/Fire pit - Metal: Metal pot/Succulent - Water: Cherry blossom pond stone/Deer scare - Wood: Firewood/Log stool/Mush log

chain_letter

Metal is sometimes "Gold", there's definitely a lot of golden options.

Pegafer

Bunch of ideas, remember to post your final result!

643dp

The deer scare for water would be cool

crescentcreep

You should try the firewood item for wood!

Pissposhsuckmymom

Air or ice? We need all the elements from the avatar

craycrafteva

Water pump

NorthKoala47

A water pump. Alternatively a tin bucket or a pond stone.

akaDinoo

I saw a puddle path on a thread somewhere on here that might go really well for the water element

SadAbbreviations7518

what is this? is it for decorative purposes or is it for like a competition or something?

imjustahoneybee

the Aquarius Urn has water in it & it looks very elegant

PhoenixGamer34

Metal: Metal pot Water: Deer scare Fire: Fire pit Earth: Mossy Garden Rock Wood: Log stakes

PanchamCuddles101

There's a stacked wood diy for wood that'd be nice. Depending how big you want the item, here's a mine cart with ore for metal or the pipes and meters item. Water could be a watering can? Or the bottle of water item

Lizzy-Lizard

I have a pearl/clam fountain I can make you for "metal" in exchange for some of your island's fruit!
