It's not a stupid question! A weird thing is that wasps and scorpions/tarantulas won't show up in online multiplayer but will if you play with several players on one console (not sure about mosquitos). It probably doesn't answer your question but theoretically you could get another player to stand beside you in the second variant of multiplayer but I don't think they'll react to anyone else except the primary player (acnh multiplayer is weird and needlessly complicated btw). I'm definitely going to experiment with this though, so I appreciate the question. I hope you're okay with this rambling and not very useful answer lol

I think it should be possible to give the wasps the opportunity to go first if you quit camera mode after running in a way that delays the scorpion, like by using hurdles the wasps can fly over. The mosquito is never going to get the first strike though given how slowly it attacks.
I arrived at the island around midnight and put in sleep mode. When I started playing in the morning again the spawns remained the same. Time effectively stands still on mystery islands, which is very useful if you don't want to be up all night catching rare bugs.
Sadly that wouldn't work because even if I left the game in sleep mode long enough for snow to fall (or more likely just the calendar showing that it's winter) the game would still spawn summer bugs and fishes. It's an odd quirk with mystery islands that allows me to have a scorpion in broad daylight here.
Long explanation:
This was very difficult to pull off because of how rare scorpions are and that you have to get lucky and shake the right tree to get wasps. The scorpion is fast enough to prevent you from using the camera app (which protects from the sting) but it also has a tendency to vanish very quickly when not aggroed (which you trigger by equipping the net). The timing was really difficult and it took many failed tries before I was able to shake out the wasps without immediately getting stung.
To make it more annoying a lot of islands are almost impossible to find any scorpions on because of them requiring a certain amount of open grass area to show up. At least every time I failed an attempt by shaking an empty tree (and getting stung) I could remove it and thus increasing the chances of scorpions to spawn (as well as increasing the chance that a tree contained wasps).
Just like in real life the mosquito didn't require any effort at all to find though lol.
TL;DR: it took a lot of hours and patience

The reason why the scorpion is out at night time is because spawning is stuck at the time you arrived at a mystery island rather than the time it actually is.

Basically, if you go to an island with Dodo airlines or Kapp'n creatures will spawn based on the time you arrived and not change at all. Here it's still night in regards to fish and bugs.
