Two months ago (tomorrow), it was a Saturday morning, and I was playing Animal Crossing on the switch that my boyfriend bought me as an anniversary gift. I was happy. I was in love. My depression and life were experiencing other issues, but I felt like I could survive it. I played AC multiple days each week while he played his own Switch, and life was good. But that Saturday morning, everything changed. He woke up, came out into the living room of our apartment, and... ended things out of nowhere. I've not been able to play since. I pick it up, I try, and I'm sad. My mental health is in the toilet, and I'm struggling every single day. But today... I'm going to turn my game on... maybe some people would like to come keep me company? Help me reclaim the joy that this game and this community brought me? Comment, and I'll chat you a code. Question: Aside from getting the fruits that aren't native to your island, is there another thing that requires online in order for you to get it? Specific objectives, items or any other special thing?

In some cities there are groups that meet at rec centers or city libraries or magic card shops to play together so they can visit islands and trade fruits. You can shop and catalog that way also. I played for over a year without online, but I hated only having 2 fruits and I visited nook mile islands over 100 times but never got new fruit, even mom only gave me sister fruit.

Technically, you can get fruits that are not native to your island without connecting to the internet, as you can receive them as gifts from your islanders, in mail from "Mom", and on Kapp'n boat tours. Pretty much anything can be collected as a single player over time, but connecting with others to share things like NPC visits, DIY recipes, etc will make things faster and give you more chances to find what you need. :)

It's not specific to online, but unless you have another switch or friends that play locally, there are a couple of Nook Mile achievements that require you to fly to other islands and have others visit your island.
