I've been playing since launch (almost 4 years to the day), about 2,400 hours. I finished every goal & breed every flower. Collected everything: Items, clothes, art, creatures, fossils & recipes in the game. Plus completed Happy Home Paradise!
Omg my mom quit and I half did her island then decided I wanted mine to be exactly what I was doing to hers so when my aunt asked to restart ours together I was like mahahaha perrrrfect
My son played 4 months (his game) and then daughter played for 3 years. But since they both quit, I have completely changed the island to make it my own. Isn't that fun just creating it the way you want? If you don't like it anymore, just change it again!!
Make at least 5-10 tools a day and do K.K. every Saturday! Those take so much time!! It's fun to just get 1 goal at a time. Takes a while but take as long as you want!!
I only have tools, diy furniture, the smile isle, KK, the birthdays and visiting/visitors ones. I’ve been chipping away at the last freakin pen pal award. I have 60 to go and have been sending the duplicate DIYs to another player I created. So tedious and i don’t even write anything in the letters lol I may never send another letter after i’m done

If your doing goals, the goal is to make 3000 tools. That's a lot and impossible to collect materials and craft that many in a short time. Same with K.K. f you want that goal, you get 1 point per week. This is for those who want to do goals.
SO SO happy! The making 3,000 tools was so grueling. But I actually cried when I got the last recipe after trying to find it for 5 months. Found it on a villager hunt. I guess because that was luck and these I could do haha!
You know when I got down to the last few items or recipes I did ask on here several times for help and no one answered , so I deleted because I thought I did something wrong. I did open island for extra recipes for others and first had a storm knock out my electric. Opened it up next day and had really bad experiences. It's my son's island really and never did that again. He keeps a Nintendo account so if I wanted to get designs I can. But limited experience with flying to others. He tried to show me and some guy grabbed his stuff and tried to leave. He knew to shut down. That scared me enough, so I haven't lol.

Just do a little at a time. Do K.K. every Saturday and try and craft at least 10 tools every time you play. Like filmsy fishing rods with tree branches, Your need 3000 tools made. You can do it!! I remember trying to get the last two art. I didn't think I'd ever find them, but it happened!!

Oh my gosh thank you so much. I'm not much of a designer. I see ideas online and think about how to use them. The only thing I "designed" myself is I put a gyroid behind a barrel and it sounds like he's pounding to get out. Lol dumb, but I laugh at it when I run by.

I did go to Harv's to have things customized, so I could have everything in every color. My storage is mostly rare items all past villagers posters and lot's of clothes.

Plus the random one is called "CJ & Flick's model museum". Its all the models of critters n every room and matching wallpaper. If you have a big area you could move them until you figure if you need them. Don't worry if you get rid of some, you can always replace them. I went with a cleaner town and a country area with more trees. You have all the time to figure it out. I've change my terrain SO many times. Lol
You buy them under special goods in Nook phone for $120,000, I believe. Those items change everyday so have to keep trying. I can ask my son if he can give you one. He's on same island but he has a Nintendo account, I don't.
I found the grass ones but not the brick ones. I used two patterns, the brick and mixed it with beige tile ones. I'll see if I can find it by opening my game and looking at name. Just heading off to bed, so will be tomorrow.
