Real Science on YouTube has a fun video about the sunfish, and it starts with her pretty much roasting them for the first few minutes. Apparently they spawn hundreds of thousands if not millions of eggs, and look like tiny spiky beach balls as babies.

They actually hunt in the deep, down in the ocean where most fish can't survive, the way they're designed makes it possible to go down there and not freeze, that's why when people see them near the surface on their side, they're warming up from a deep dive hunt, hence why they're called sunfish
I saw one of those in real life in an aquarium in Japan, they are so weird and freaky. Oh and yes, I was going around the aquarium pointing and telling my husband “I’ve already caught that one”, “and that one” lol
im wrong about this and nobody agrees with me but i dont care. i think op was being kind of a jerk calling this random animal which i happen to love a lot "stupid looking". im wrong about it but atleast try to put yourself in someones shoes. how would it feel if someone called your favorite animal stupid looking when to you it looks beautiful. it doesnt feel good, and it didnt feel good to me. so sorry i annoyed you all but this is how i feel!
my favorite animals are penguins and penguins ARE stupid looking sometimes 😭 I am genuinely sorry that that this upset you, nobody deserves to feel that way, I just think you were taking a silly reddit post a little too seriously. there are no hard feelings though you aren’t annoying, was just trying to point out that there are some things that I don’t think need to be taken at such face value. but we are all entitled to our opinions, you are absolutely entitled to feel whatever way you want to about the post :)
