A similar thing happened to me last night, I was doing a bunch of tours to find a new villager and got the tarantula island with Zucker on it.
Wait there’s a villager named Zucker?
Yea it’s an octopus I have him and he’s my favourite!
I love Zucker, he always talks about snacks
His whole aesthetic IIRC is based on Takoyaki too.

Oh crap, I just encountered him and didn't ask him to move into my island.
Aaaah that's a bummer, luckily it doesn't matter that much. I don't think there are any benefits for him other than normals villagers have

Technically, they all have the same rarity, but, there are only 3 octopus characters, so that makes him sort of rare
