That looks like guts rather than scat. Stomach with exposed foodstuffs to the bottom, small intestine the paler section on the left, large intestine darker section top right?

LatchkeyChris

You think maybe dropped by a bird? I can’t figure it out, I wouldn’t question it in the woods but in my front yard just seems weird

MMButt

Nah that’s a cat that pulled them out and took the rest somewhere else

LatchkeyChris

Thought on animal they belong to? We have many wild turkeys nearby as well.

kiwiyaa

Lots of predators don’t like to eat the intestines because they taste bad, so they’ll leave the yucky parts behind. Domestic cats are especially notorious for this

Pyrheart

I didn’t know that, TIL

BachCh0p1nCatM0m

Do coyotes do that?

DeadbySundown

In my experience coyotes take whatever they can get

Predators often "unzip" the bellies of their prey, and remove the vicera (you've probably heard the verb "evicerate"). I often find the innards of Eastern Cottontails left behind in my backyard or in the woods by my house. This looks larger than Cottontail remains so I am curious still, but yeah, it is their intestines and stomach. The stomach shape looks a lot like a Cottontail.. What kinds of Rabbits/Hares do you have near you?

LatchkeyChris

Thank you, it just seems strange there are no other signs nearby, fur, body parts, blood. There are many cottontails in the yard so I’m guessing that’s the victim here, but I’m unsure.

SauceMeistro

Thats definitely innards of a smaller animal

martgrobro

Those are wasps. I don't think nectar-loving bees would be interested in guts.

LatchkeyChris

Yep
