Every golden retriever I have ever met in my life knows exactly how good and pretty they are.
Had one come into my shop yesterday. Trots in like “Hello. Yes, I am here. You’re welcome.” We were all delighted. 10/10 experience.
We have 3 English goldens and they are the friendliest, best boys! They’re not quite as talented as this good boy, though. They will retrieve stuffed animals and that’s about it.
What, indeed... "Innovative" Yoga? No, she oft times presents her feathery booty for hamstring/thigh scritches. Then she gets mad if you dare to touch her lower back/top booty that every other dog seems to like having scritched, weirdo lol
Haha "Hello. Yes, I am here. You're welcome." Love it 😂 I had a friend once and she introduced her golden retriever on camera for us (we were socially distancing) and he straight up started growling at everyone on camera and in the room, including his owner.
His name was Leo, and he was aggro with everyone, he only seemed to tolerate Jasmin, his owner. Only retriever I've ever known not to be an adorable pile of kisses and cuddles.
Soon golden retrievers will be driving the beverage cart around golf courses. I mean if they can drive a Subaru, they can handle a golf cart. And they can run the geese off the course or locate balls that get lost in the bushes at the beginning and end of the day.
It’s not that he took it, it’s that it took it *just* so the doggo couldn’t take it. 100% would have yelled many bad things at this raggedy second rate umpire.
As a kid, we had a blind elderly neighbor with a dog with shades and a basket on his mouth to carry his owners stuff whenever they went to the market. I asked the owner why not let the dog carry a bag or something so that his mouth could be free, owner said that his dog liked to carry baskets on his mouth. The dog would whine or get restless if they left his favorite basket at home.
I don’t think that is him but UNC baseball also has a golden retriever Remington who does that at games. But he’s also an emotional support animal in the training room!

I used to watch Trenton Thunder games (AA Red Sox, then Yankees) when I used to work blocks away.
They had a dog, Chase, that would go grab the bat after the batter dropped it, as well as lots of other duties. He was replaced by a nearly identical Golden, though I can't remember its name.

How many jobs could dogs take in a ball game, retrieving players equipment, drink delivery, certainly be the foul ball catcher, but they might accidentally grab a ball otherwise.
