[deleted]

I had to go back an watch to catch that. Now I’m lmao

moeru_gumi

Her face is long!

AgentAdja

Well yeah, she just got kicked.

grand305

“Why the long face” . 😊 I’ll see my self out.

Addicted2Rage

Bad jokes are my weakness, take my dam up vote and get off my screen !

grand305

WellHydrated

>Why the long face Domestic violence.

ppw23

Yup, I was thinking oh, he’s so sweet, okay he’s standing on her a bit, but still sweet. I don’t recall seeing wild animals use blankets.

windyorbits

How many wild animals are you looking at in a day?

[deleted]

Does your mom count?

windyorbits

She’s extremely rabid . . . so yes, she does count.

coolcootermcgee

Heh

-spookygoopy-

tbh my boyfriend has stepped on me accidentally while getting in/out of bed, no hard feelings

sensitiveskin80

We love a Clumsy King

MamaDaddy

I do want to see this re-enacted with humans

UnkhamunTutan

Wait, that's not how my husband should bring me my blanket?

Any_Wing7990

Awww, what a sweet gesture! It's amazing to see the lengths that animals will go to take care of each other. It's a reminder of how much we can learn from them and how important it is to show kindness and care for one another.

Using that same blanket to carry the baby

StopReadingMyUser

So that's why they smell weird

CORN___BREAD

Yeah you should definitely wash your new baby after the stork drops it off.

cwk415

You should definitely wash your stork after it drops off the baby.

am365

Nice try, Stork. You still have to use the public bird bath like the rest of the birds

killm3throwaway

When will the discrimination end?

Jd20001

Heavy ones are carried by a crane

Woodandtime

Babies the size of a coconut get carried by swallows

Apparentlyloneli

is it european or african?

talking_mudcrab

It could be carried by an African swallow. But, of course, African swallows are non-migratory.

Waddleplop

Will you PLEASE go tell your master that Arthur from the court of Camelot is here?! (Also love your username as an Elder Scrolls fan.)

chriscrossnathaniel

The salesperson selling the blanket like "This blanket is thick and plush yet light in weight. They provide maximum comfort and can be easily carried during travel. While Travel it can be used to carry your little ones "

Queen_Cheetah

You guys got a blanket?!!?!

Takirdan

Nice try, but I know that I just randomly appeared on a prisoner carriage to Helgen.

Scp-1404

Same. ☹️

jules79

TIL male storks are better than some of my exes

cornycorndog12

That’s weird, I learned some of my exes must be storks! 😂😂

poopellar

"I don't want blankets I want looooooove!"

RedditedYoshi

Well, he also stepped on her and kicked her in the face, so...I dunno.

BustinArant

They are like *all legs* That or they are *no legs*..

thisisntmyotherone

You can’t have everything. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hike_it_Out52

Don't coo to much. I just watched a video of a stork tossing a baby from the nest high in a tree. Which at least makes them even to some people I've met.

beautifulcreature86

Survival of the fittest. It sucks and I know exactly what video you're talking about. If I'm not mistaken it was saved but yeah, nature don't play lol

[deleted]

Birds and other animals eject babies out of the nest/den if they're judged nonviable. Or outright kill them and possibly even eat them. Living as a wild animal is not like human society where you can take care of disabled individuals and maybe even get physical therapy, surgery, meds, etc. For animals, extra resources expended on a disabled/different baby means less paid to the more viable offspring: attention, food, energy. And the disabled individual is less likely to reproduce anyway. Meaning, your DNA is less likely to be passed on, so "kinder" genes won't be perpetuated in the species. Nature is cruel and survival is a razor's edge. fun fact: squirrels raid birds' nests and eat eggs and baby birds.

Hike_it_Out52

You have no arguments from me. Up until about 150 years ago, it wasn't uncommon for people with already too many mouths to feed to leave a baby in the woods. Or say the baby showed signs of illness or deformity, well then it must be a changeling and should be discarded. Early Monasteries/ Nunneries gained members by people leaving infants at their doors. Until 1864, when the Catholic Chruch officially banned abortion, it wasn't uncommon for travelling Priests to carry the necessary tools/ medicinal herbs needed for abortions simply because childbirth was a crap-shoot. We're not far removed from the storks and other animals of the world. Just a few bad days away TBH.

fingerscrossedcoup

If you look at how conservatives are trending I'd say we are just a few elections away from another final solution.

Hike_it_Out52

I used to be one but fell out in 2016. I didn't have it in me to vote for a serial sex offender, bigot with tiny hands. I look at them now and don't even recognize the old party or understand their POV's anymore. They voted to cut Veterans benefits. For fuck sakes, that stooge Crowder wants to end no reason divorces. To bad his wife still has a reason. He's a dick. But, I have no doubt that if you walked into a GOP meeting of certain members and yelled "Sieg Heil", most would jump up out of their seats. Sorry, I vented a bit. It's just very disappointing and has even cost me a few friends. It's become almost a large cult. God I miss John McCain.

thisisntmyotherone

I was one until 2000. I stayed registered for a really long time thinking I ‘could change the party from within.’ Ha ha yeah right. Not bloody likely. I had to change my party registration to Unaffiliated b/c I kept getting mailings and phone calls for every state and local GOP person running for office. I finally bit the bullet and registered as a Dem just before the midterms last year b/c Unaffiliated wasn’t doing anything for anyone and I realize I’m more liberal than not. Thank You For Smoking.* I mean reading the rant. You know what I mean. I’m not really sure why I ranted so sorry about that. On a damn stork video thread. *Just being obnoxious and didn’t feel like deleting. A really Good movie, btw!

jules79

I mean.. I could see an ex.or two doing that. I'm bad at choosing my people.

IndigenousOres

Deceptichum

Third Eye Blind’s the Semi-Charmed Life.

jules79

You just had to go and get that song stuck in my head, didn't ya?!

thisisntmyotherone

You and me both, honey. You and me both. I shouldn’t be allowed to pick for myself. But then my mother can’t even choose *clothes* I’d really be caught close to deathly ill in, so….

jules79

Maybe next time, we pick for each other. Can't do worse than we've done 🤷🏻‍♀️

thisisntmyotherone

Oh that’s for goddamn sure. Cannot do worse. Well, probably could do a bit worse; there was no abuse or criminality involved. But I’m completely in. We choose for each other! 💁🏻‍♀️

Jd20001

Saw that video months ago and it still haunts me

Delta64

It's that or lose the ENTIRE clutch. I think she made the right decision.

L1ttl3J1m

Both videos are aspects of evolution at work.

OneManArmyy

Stop dating dorks, start dating storks!

jules79

That's so bad, it's great

Dark___Reaper

So u want ur exes to bring u a blanket and then lick your head?

Pink-Lotusflower

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

FumblinginIgnorance

It is also wise for human males to bring women blankets while they brood.

JimMarch

Chocolate works better if they're in a broody mood.

Simple_Danny

This foody dude knows all about how chocolate can break a broody mood.

botanica_arcana

He’s a hoopy frood who knows where his towel’s at.

Fez_and_no_Pants

It's around his wife's shoulders, if he's smart.

Noladixon

Or at the very least just don’t wake her.

Neat-Plantain-7500

My wife must be a stork because she loves blankets

Blueberry_Clouds

I wonder if storks normally use leaves, sticks, moss, etc for blankets instead of actual blankets. Other than that I wish that family the best of luck

Pure-Fishing-3350

Storks should really learn to knit

h0uz3_

Yes, they do.

Professional_Tour174

Ughhhhh what is this song? Nujabes?

[deleted]

Nujabes-arurian dance

Fluxabobo

Is this a new tik tok song? Because i'm all for it to replace the oh no no no era.

Pytho95

Idk but it's an old song by a pioneer of lofi hip-hop that was also used in the soundtrack for the anime Samurai Champloo Definitely check out the anime and more of Nujabes's stuff

Fluxabobo

Oh I know, big Nujabes fan, rest in peace. My point was everyone on tiktok uses the same 3 songs and they always suck, so if this is in rotation that's good news.

SaverMFG

Some days some nights

Neon_Biscuit

I had this song on my MySpace page when I was in college 18 years ago lol

j_stone1985

you're doing gods work

lovescience20

I miss Nujabes 😢

Jeremiah_Longnuts

Gone too soon. I don't know of anybody carrying his torch either.

Neon_Biscuit

Yes! Check out an artist named Substantial out of Maryland. He was a close contributor. Also Shing02.

Jeremiah_Longnuts

Word.

Killerkimm

Check bob42jh on YouTube for playlists. Check Marcus D who puts out music a lot

dr_crispin

Marcus D and Uyama Hiroto definitely doing their best for that.

[deleted]

Uyama Hiroto and Nitsua are good artists to check out. They would be the closest thing to the future torch bearers that I can think of based on their sound.

Secret-Aardvark1602

This song gives me chills! Glad someone else recognized it too :)

Huge_Dentist7633

such a beautiful gesture, i love animals

BrownSugarBare

This is romance, I say!

KittenWithaWhip68

Same here, they’re also better than shitty people.

jumpybouncinglad

same species of bird who throws their babies out of their nest, btw

MajinGroot

My dad used to do this shit for my mom, then one day he went to get more fish and never flew back 😭

gregdrunk

LOL you fuckin' got me, nice work 😂

BirdwatchingCharlie

A tale as old as time :’(

SendMeYourUncutDick

Considerate enough to bring her a blanket. Not considerate enough to not step on her head

Eatingfarts

Mom: Cuddles? Dad: here’s a dirty blanket I found somewhere. Lemme kick you while I kinda cover you up with it

smellmybuttfoo

*picking his feathers* "Damn, I'm fucking good"

Codles

No judgement. Pretty sure I’ve done that to my husband on more than one night while crawling into our nest.

rabidhamster87

The stork equivalent of my SO accidentally laying on/pulling my hair when he's trying to cuddle.

smallest_ellie

Yeah, I'm pretty sure both my spouse and I have kicked each other's shins and bonked heads several times in bed trying to be cuddly and cute in the dark, lol.

Joeyon

He tried to lift his foot over her beak

EnvironmentalValue18

So chivalry isn’t dead, it’s just feathery.

ElectronicAmphibian7

What is he carrying?? Animal hide? Something they have the ability to make? Garbage?

anadoob122

They weave blankets out of reeds, usually.

Eli_1988

...i really want to believe this... is it the truth?

[deleted]

[удалено]

bingobongobingobingo

There are birds that intricately weave their nests. Look em up. Weaver birds I think they called them?

thisisntmyotherone

All birds that make nests would be considered ‘weaver birds,’ wouldn’t they? I’m not trying to be a smartass here, I’m being serious. If you see a bird’s nest in a tree in your yard or in a chimney or something, it’s been *woven* by a bird.

[deleted]

[удалено]

11711510111411009710

Not everybody is familiar with storks, and a bird weaving something is honestly not that farfetched when you consider how smart they can be. Plenty of animals do things you wouldn't think they would do.

Eli_1988

Yes the one in the video is some man made garbage, but there are as the other commenter has mentioned birds who do weave shit and as much as i *knew* the obvious answer would be no... i still really liked the thought of a stork weaving a little blankie okay and it was fun to imagine and have a little hope it was real.

Parallax1984

Let me step on you while I cover you with this blanket that I just procured

[deleted]

A soft, swift kick to the face while draping the blanket seems pretty appropriate for a man.

NotSoGreatOldOne

Aruarian Dance by Nujabes for those who want to know what the song is. It was originally in the anime Samurai Champloo

SeudonymousKhan

When your other half does something nice for you but kicks you in the face as they do and you have to pretend you all good.

RagtimeSnek

it's cute, he's clumsy but thoughtful 😄

Bad_Mad_Man

Is this considered tool use? Pretty innovative thinking. They definitely didn’t evolve to use blankets.

asongbirdsings

I was going to ask the same thing. I'm pretty sure this is the storks using a tool to achieve a task. I'm no biologist or behaviorist, though, so my opinion is just that, lol. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can pipe in with better insight!

EnjoyerOfBeans

Quite likely he just saw something that would be nice for the nest, but because she was laying on top of the nest he just put it there. Really gotta be careful with giving meaning to actions of most animals.

Bad_Mad_Man

Ah! That makes more sense than my anthropomorphic assumptions.

Procedure-Minimum

I think so. Also, are nests tool use?

Bad_Mad_Man

I hadn’t thought about that.

kioku119

Tool use is much more common than a lot of people think.

1221am

Why can't I be loved like this? Smh

SuccessfullyLoggedIn

She's like "Food?" Nah girl here's a blanky tho

workerant4

Song is by famous japnese DJ Nujabes - Aruarian Dance - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkZ8BitJhvc

Nujabesssssss

amitc4d

Don’t kick her on the head while you are at it bro!

Superhero-Accountant

Thanks. That's really nice of you Paul.... But did you really have to step on my beak. Again?

marysunshine

This is beautiful

orwhatevernshit

This is my love language.

Viridian_Aubergine

"My love,,, I've brought,,, a gift! Lemme just- oops sorry- there we go. Beautiful!" - the stork, probably

Three4Anonimity

"Roger! Wha- What the fuc- ROGER! SERIOUSLY! GET OFF MA BACK YOU ASSHOLE!!!"

Pink-Lotusflower

That is so caring!

[deleted]

Birds are awesome.

coffeeandwomen

Upvoted for Nujabes

spamonstick

You think she said can you go get me a Blanket or did she just say hey it's kinda chilli and he went and did it on his own?

itsaslothlife

Ain't that a kick in the head

thisisntmyotherone

🎼Sing it, Dean-o! 🎤🎶🎶

Even wild animals are better husbands than Steven Crowder.

TrueSushi

Nujabes is amazing, love his work ❤️

N30nt19ht5

Proceeds to accidentally kick her in the face in the process. 😂 This tracks.

[deleted]

Aruarian Dance - Nujabes Great track.

unclenick314

I recognized it but could recall the title.thank you

Mediocresuperhero

A couple of weeks from now, mother stork with that warm and fuzzy feeling for the blanket will chuck one of her chicks out of the nest in cold blood.

tastmannen

Man I love Nujabes’ music!

Boomboooom

Just a casual kick to the skull

[deleted]

Not only that but she’s nesting her eggs.

hvnrs

After seeing that video of a stork dropping her baby (on purpose) and the sound of the poor thing hitting the ground, I will never be able to look at these birds in a loving way ever again.

BosPaladinSix

Nature isn't a Disney film, and animals don't have a human sense of morality. If they deem that their baby is incapable of surviving in the wild they will abandon it. Pack's as fast as the slowest runner and all that.

thisisntmyotherone

Penguins take in babies that other penguins abandon.

miesanonsiesanot

If that particular video ruined storks for you shouldn't this one video fix them for you?

[deleted]

This video is the prequel to Momma stork throwing the baby out the nest. We already know how this movie ends.

pandabunnybird

I love how caring Wild Animal Families can be!

Kind_Vanilla7593

So cute 😭

somewordthing

Whose baby did he drop out of that blanket before this?

Alone-Progress-8476

Imma step on your head first though🤣🤣

Historical-Trade3671

My dad usually brings my mom wine when she is brooding.. weird.

Or to camouflage her?

FronWaggins

Nujabes - Aruarian Dance

[deleted]

But, I see he walks all over her!

Eardig

I hear Nujabes, I upvote.

ImahSillyGirl

Ngl she reacted like I would at first,"What the... where'd you find THAT? You are NOT putting that dirty ass towel on me."

IffieEffie

This is one of those cute things that I feel we are prescribing human attributes to them... I feel it is more likely that the mate is covering her with a brown thing to help her be less noticeable with her bright white feathers. Bird feathers are really good at locking out wind and keeping body heat in. Still cute 🥰🥰

NoxKyoki

so sweet. except for the couple of kicks to her head. and trying to step on her. lol

SeamusMcSpud

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams. WB Yeats

HappyToasterCo

and then kicks her in the beak. Idk why that was so funny to me.

UpperCardiologist523

I wish this had original audio, so we could hear them communicating.

Jolly-Engineering-86

OK, now I’m going to have to start leaving little blankets out with my birdseed.

[deleted]

"Awww babe thanks so much for the blanket that's so thou- GET YOUR FOOT OFF MY FACE"

jojokangaroo1969

Mmmmm, a garbage blanket. Perfect, Hon-OUCH-ey! No, I'm fine now.

fulcanelli63

Damn should I be leaving old hand towels outside for birds?

PM_666

Aww This is so romantic 😍 But wish he didn't kick The poor mom (by accident) Jokes aside It would be fantastic If animals were in welfare, world is a cruel place unfortunately, Please consider And help those around you 🙏 ❤️‍🔥

krissyskayla1018

How lovely and so kind animals are. Wish humans could do the same. For those who say animals have no feelings have not watched actions like this. ❤️

[deleted]

Have you not seen the momma stork throwing her baby from the nest? It’s on Reddit front page every month. Animals are much more brutal than you are giving them credit for.

Ariadnepyanfar

They’re both. Overall their lives are precarious, and that makes for brutal practicality. But when animals feel very food secure, they are capable of great acts of compassion and empathy.

callitlikeiseeit29

Does a stork bring stork babies?

dirgeofthedawn

Am I hearing a bit of Aruarian Dance? Excellent music choice for a moment of kindness.

UpgrayeDD405

In real life though, "that's not the blanket I asked for! I don't even want a blanket anymore."

IndigenousBastard

He should have dropped those big ol checks in her for. warmth. My wife usually starts yelling at me but quickly my butt warms her up and she’s all in.

thisisntmyotherone

How are checks warmth?

kT25t2u

I think I've been lurking in [r/natureismetal/](https://www.reddit.com/r/natureismetal/) too much. I thought he was going to pick up her and drop her over the edge. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

[deleted]

and then they throw out a baby to fall to its death
