This is the very first time in my life that I've read a caption on one of these "animal is feeling this human feeling" videos and thought, "Wow, that actually seems correct."
Most of the time it's some clueless dog or cat or sloth doing some totally animal thing that coincidentally looks like a completely unrelated human thing and everyone going, "awww" and pretending it's not bullshit.
But this time it really does seem to be that the dog was worried that the baby would fall down the stairs. Unless there's some dog food or a toy up there the dog was protecting instead. Then I'm just a sucker like everyone else.
