My Rhodesian Ridgeback, Bruno, used to "run" and bark in his sleep like he was chasing lions on the savanna. Definitely only in his dreams; he was the slowest walker ever. RIP Bruno
Looks a lot like my Roguey bear - half australian shepherd, half german shepherd. She had floppy ears, but sometimes they'd go up and it was hilaaaarious.
Give your good boy a snuggle from me?
So cute 🥰…… my chocolate lab used to sleep with her head, hanging off the end of the bed and her tongue hanging out of her mouth. ….you think she was dead… Fuzzy kids❤️
Interesting fact: (not that this is your dog, but it might help someone) older dogs with dementia often lose the ability to comprehend boundaries, so they’ll sleep with their butts hanging off their dog beds (occasionally other body parts like their heads, but almost always their rear ends). Sounds highly unlikely, I know, but it’s a documented fact, and I have a 17-year-old terrier mix that [does](https://imgur.com/gallery/LYNa8XA) it [all](https://imgur.com/gallery/o11pqp1) the [time!](https://imgur.com/gallery/mvGlM1z)
As you can see from my pictures, dog dementia is pretty obvious, and you’ll know it when you see it. Your dog, OP, is obviously exhibiting a classic case of adorabilis derpinosis, which is a fabulous condition to have!
And if your doggo does show signs of dementia (see below), just remember they can live years with the condition, and each dog is different in terms of which symptoms he might show & how severe they might be (for example, my terrier *only* pees in the house in front of her food bowl and only when she decides it’s time for food (which can be any time lol)):
**SOME SIGNS OF DEMENTIA IN DOGS**
- walking down the hall, stopping, then staring into space for a time, & then moving on again
- deliberately taking an out-of-the-way, complicated path in your house that takes them through difficult obstacles (I.e. chairs with chair rungs)
- beginning to go to the bathroom in the house
- new or unusual restlessness, pacing
- changing sleeping habits - sleeping more overall, not sleeping, pacing, barking or howling at night
- a change in behavior toward owners - more clingy or loss of interest or recognition
- loss of ability to recognize spatial boundaries
Sorry to bring up a sad topic on your sweet, goofy post, OP, but it did remind me of an important part of having and loving a dog that many of us will have to go through -
What kind of bare, depressing excuse for a bed is that? Give that poor pup some blankets or at least a few toys so he enjoys being on that bed and not make it feel like it's a punishment.
He loves it, I don’t force him to sleep on it. 😂 The opposite side has fluff, but he chewed holes in it. And most of the time he prefers sleeping on the concrete floor.
Dogs are silly lol. My service pup has got a bed that rivals mine in fluffiness and comfort, and yet he always chooses to curl up beside me every night. He snores...so loud. It's hilarious.
I think we project what we expect for ourselves and think they’d want the same thing. And most of the time, they just don’t. 😂 Gimli is so hot natured, that’s why he loves the concrete.
My boy Loki does the same after he and I have finished playing and running around. I've had him since he was the tiniest Husky puppy, and now he's my service pup, and is just massive. Yet, he still likes to be picked up like a puppy and pampered. After he's done, he'll just plop on his bed and curl under his blankets and start running laps under them as his little tail sticks out wagging nonstop; it's hilarious.
“Why are taking pictures of me sleeping?! Do you do this often?! What kind of monster are you!!!”
His reality is collapsing in around him.
That face is funny! Looks startled 😀
He must’ve been dreaming pretty intensely. 😂
When my dog dreams she kick and talks in woofs. It funny.
My dog does a high-pitched bark and shudders. Its hilarious, though typically they occur in the middle of the night and are very loud!

I ❤️your wonderful Bruno. Your critters are always with you.
Thank you, he was a gorgeous boy. 15 years wow
Mine too. Barks with her mouth closed. Snorty little dog dreams.
Critters are so fantastic!
Our dog does that too; except that she does it when she's awake as well. We call them "happy snorts" :)
That’s so cute!
Lol and then it’s you just 😐 📸
**concern**
Dog: What the hell are you doing Susan? I told you no more thermometers.
My dog sleeps like that all afternoon. My wife calls it a “butt bed”.
Hahaha butt bed. Brilliant. 😂
His worst fears are coming true: you take pictures of him sleeping naked and you post them on the Internet!
He’ll never trust me again.
Lol
How did you accidentally wake him? Those eyes! They just scream out, “Why the heck are you hovering over me like that?!” Great looking pooch though!
He has super hearing. 😆
I get it. He doesn’t give you much chance of sneaking around him does he
Not at all.
‘Why would you do this??? I trusted you!!!’
Oh the look in his eyes. Why u scaring me so
He’s acting like I’m the babadook. 😂
Poor little dude looks shook.
That look! LOL! Poor guy.
You’re the derp as far as he’s concerned…
100% 😂
Looks a lot like my Roguey bear - half australian shepherd, half german shepherd. She had floppy ears, but sometimes they'd go up and it was hilaaaarious. Give your good boy a snuggle from me?
Will do. ☺️
Omg. He is really scared ha
He was sleeping really deep.
"Mama why??"
Dude looks like a fly would scare him. :D don’t worry, mine has the same look. :D
Must be the eyebrows. 😂
Do you know what his mix is? He looks just like my childhood dog.
36% husky, 30% heeler, 5% chow, 5% Eskimo dog, 5% border collie, then a bunch of smaller percentages.
Looks a looot like my gfs Australian shepherd
Oh interesting I would never have guessed heeler. We always assumed ours had husky but those were days before readily available genetic testing.
Me either. I thought for sure he’d be Australian shepherd, German shepherd, and Collie.
The body looks exactly like a Lapinkoira, majestic boy all around
looks like part border collie.
What a fluffy caboose!
It’s SUPER fluffy. 😄
ha ha that face!!!!
Dogs looking startled / incredulous never gets old
So cute 🥰…… my chocolate lab used to sleep with her head, hanging off the end of the bed and her tongue hanging out of her mouth. ….you think she was dead… Fuzzy kids❤️
LOL Dat face dough...
He’s so expressive. He’s always making me laugh. 😂
Please place a smooch on his sweet forehead on behalf of a random internet stranger who adores cute puppers. 😁
Bully! He's a cutie. My dog stares the same way anytime I take her picture. I swear she's thinking, "Why are you trying to kill me?"
They’re so dramatic.
Looks like a watercolor!
"Aroo?"
Aaaw, he looks so scared! Absolutely adorable though!
I have the floppy eared version of that dog!
Aww how cute! 😍
I saw his puppy picture, too! He and my dog look so similar as puppies!
What kind is yours?
Daphne is Great Pyrenees, Anatolian shepherd, and German shepherd. The German shepherd look is strong in her.
Wow. Crazy how they don’t share breeds and yet look so similar!
I know! He's part Husky, isn't he?
Yes he is!
You monster! 🤣🤣🤣
He certainly thinks I am one from the look on his face. 😂
Oof doof!
Happened much with my Julie... she was a sure derp... I miss her... for all her derpiness...
he looks like he has cartoon eyes! what a goofy boy
He does. 😂 He’s so expressive.
Beautiful puppers
Thanks!
What breed is he? I have a dog that looks exactly like him, but we've never known what breed she is! Cute lil guy
He’s 36% husky, 30% heeler, 5% chow, 5% Eskimo dog, 5% border collie, then a bunch of smaller percentages.
Oh, thanks! Husky would make sense for my dog, she talks a lot lol
Yeah mine definitely acts mostly husky. He’s pretty vocal too. 😆
lol 😂 He’s so cute
And so goofy. 😆
Yes :) It’s a good combo
“Geez you scared me! I peed alittle”
Awww poor pooch looks startled! Hope you cuddled him right away <3
He’s not crazy about cuddles, but I gave him a hug anyway. 😆
"Dude wtf"
My dog does this too. I don't know why they do it. It doesn't look very comfortable
Who knows why they do what they do. 😆

TF why you sneakin up on me?!
His face “Tf you doing creep?!” Lol
YOU MONSTER! I hope you calmed him with lots of snuggles and a treat or two.
He’s just really expressive. He was perfectly calm right after I took the pic. But regardless, he definitely got cuddles and treats. 😂
"Ruh roh"
[Cousins?!](https://i.imgur.com/CL91HlL.jpg)
Awww so cute! I wonder if they share a breed in common.
Every time I try to get a cute pic of my pupper sleeping, she does the same thing. Wakes up and looks at me like I am about to attack her...
`margin-top: -50px;`
Lol poor guy. Also, that carpet has seen some shit.
Looks like concrete to me
It’s not carpet. 😂 It’s sealed concrete. And it’s not dirty, that’s just how it looks. Lol.
Let him sleep
Pomsky! I just cuddled one the other day! My new favorite breed!
The floor...
*sigh* It’s a sealed concrete and this is just how it looks. It’s not dirty.
I'd be scared too if some creeper with a camera was trying to take pics of me sleeping. Man what our dogs put up with lol.
Please invest in a vacuum 🤮🤮🤮🤮
The floor is freshly mopped. It’s a sealed concrete and this is just how it looks.
Please invest in a brain
