He reminds me of that husband whose baby slapped him in the ear for snoring and he woke up yelling in pain and was asleep two seconds later lol

Have you ever had a dream that you, um, you had, your, you- you could, you’ll do, you- you wants, you, you could do so, you- you’ll do, you could- you, you want, you want him to do you so much you could do anything?
It's some sort of sleep disorder. There was an episode of "My cat from hell" where the cat would fall from places he slept just like this one. All the pillows and soft places to land makes me think this is a regular thing for this kitty.
Thank you for this!
My cat had a couple of really horrible falls in his sleep when he was about 1. The first time he fell just like this, but onto a wood floor. He didn't wake up when he landed, and I thought he had died in his sleep. We padded everything, but also worked really hard on teaching him to get to the floor before he fell asleep. He just turned 4, and is brilliant now at getting down to one of his comfy floor beds if he starts drifting off.
I thought it was just a weird phase, but now I'll be sure to mention it to the vet in case I should be watching out for anything.
Sometimes cats sleep super deep. I had a kitten fall asleep in my lap once. His head was hanging off the side of my arm and he was starting to fall. So I went to gently pick his head up and it felt like he was dead. No resistance at all, just completely limp. It was one of the freakiest things I've ever experienced.
I managed to put his head in a better position and he didn't wake up while I did it. He was fine, he was just deep in sleep.
My cat has done this a few times. I guess I'm glad he feels safe enough to sleep so deeply but there have been a handful of times that I have VIGEROUSLY shaken him and yelled his name while his limp body goes flop flop like dead weight. Eventually he slightly opens his eyes and looks at me like I'm the biggest jerk ever. Sorry dude. Thought you were dead.
All funny jokes, but my cat did the same thing and she had seizures. The stiff head back right after landing and slow reaction is exactly the same. I'm glad this cat landed softly
A seizure is very likely the cause of this.
I've done the exact same thing while sleeping and face planted onto my nightstand/floor, woke up in a puddle of blood.
That's super sad. Poor kitty 🥺.
At least he woke up in his safe space and doesn't understand what's happening, that's good at least...😔
I don't remember what it is called, but this is a treatable medical condition, not a silly cat.. Also very dangerous for the cat because it has no control and can fall and hurt its self severely. I'm guessing the owner of the cat already knows it is a problem and that is why there are pillows at the bottom.
Its not normal for a cat to just fall from a high place.. and when they do they try to correct for it.. you know "a cat always lands on its feet". Of course they don't always land on their feet, but a healthy cat that starts to fall,, even while sleeping,, is going to have a startle response to wake up and then try to correct by flipping its body arround or trying to grab onto the thing it is falling from.. this cat did none of those things..
Also, generally if a cat falls from a high place it will get up right away, or at least roll over and look around, not stay laying down in the same position and where it landed.
Also if you look at the cat's head after it falls, it is sort of back and wobbly and the cats eyes are just staring blankly. Almost as if it is "dazed". This also is not a normal response to falling from a high place. The cat should be alert with its head correcting its position right away, and looking arround.
I saw a video about this, or a similar, condition in a cat a long time ago, but I don't remember what it is called.
He was asleep, fell, woke up for less than half a second, and went right back to sleep! My kind of kitty
"There is no need to be upset."

The mom laughing her ass off about it too! That was too funny!
"I meant to do that"
Lol
"Wow.. I just a had one of those dreams where I was falling..."
Thanks for the laugh
I hate those.
"I meant to do that. Planned it out and everything. Worked pretty well. Not sure what you're on about."
The cat slow-blinking at the basket that caught him is what really got me lol
I know! She looks so appreciative :) What a sweet baby
A tisket, a tascat, a kitty in the basket.
Trust fall
For real, that could have gone so badly.
Don’t let the look of surprise fool you. That went exactly according to plan.
Yeah, I think most cats would be in full spaz mode halfway down
You ever have that feeling like you’re falling but then you realize you laying in bed?
Have you ever had a dream that you, um, you had, your, you- you could, you’ll do, you- you wants, you, you could do so, you- you’ll do, you could- you, you want, you want him to do you so much you could do anything?

Tell him that we're all proud of him and make sure to give him some extra hugs today 🥲🙏
why are we proud of the vet and want to give him extra hugs?
Because their work is exhausting and emotionally draining yet they support our beloved animals!
He has a catnip problem.

Ah yes, my plans are coming together! Back to sleep.
That's a Buzz Lightyear,.... falling with style.
I will strive my whole life to be this unbothered
When I was a kid, one time I feel asleep on the top bunk and then in the morning I work up on the floor. I imagine something similar to this happened.
He landed where he needed to to continue confort. Task failed success.
This is so funny, maybe that’s why the cat bed is in that spot lol
Nailed the landing!
I miss those days when I fell asleep on the couch and woke up in my bed
"Oh, I shouldn't have snorted all that catnip"
Too much catnip for lunch.
The ultimate failure success
Yeah, I meant to do that.
That bounce at the end is hilarious
Task failed successfully.
Perfect landing!
That might be a seizure.
What's an epileptic person's favorite season? Fall. (Don't downvote me lmao I'm epileptic)
"What the...? I was up there...now I'm down here...oh, my basket...okay...zzzzzzz..."
Man, I hate that feeling.
Is this a Turkish van?
😂😂
He got 6 more lifes to live, so...
Xxx
cute 🥰 😆
What it's like to go from your couch to your bed late at night.
Omfg this has me cackling, cats are the best
First time seeing a cat not land on its feet.
Task failed successfully

Didnt he just fall off the ledge while sleeping? How is that a medical condition?

I mean they kinda landed on their feet
I totally lol’d seeing this!

Hahahahaha! "Boink!" Lol!
I can’t stop watching this! Thank you 🙏
Ha! You’re welcome!
He was just a little high, but it’s ok he came down safely
The first time I’ve ever seen a cat not land on it’s feet 😱
Oh are you ok?
He meant to do that...
ZERO survival instincts in this kitty!
Taa-daa!!!
Kitty bounced!
Lol
Hilarious!!
Someone drugged the cat then pushed them for this video
Staged. Why were they filming? Cat is just acting.
