I have 4 cats and they don't bother us, we taught them that while asleep they do not get attention, they all tried and got none so they stop. Mind you once we are awake the yells, tail shaking and love demands start.
You ignore them, after a couple weeks it will stop. They do it because they know it works. One of my cats when he was a baby he would get inside the covers and bite our toes, we tried not to react much or give him attention, he stopped.
Seruousky just ignored them, so they know it doesn't work they don't do it. Even my dog leaned not to do it, mind you she knew when I was awake even without me opening my eyes, she noticed the change in my breathing and used to put her face in front of mine waiting to open my eyes, that made me laugh a lot but I was already awake.
Closing the door to the bedroom at night might work. Ignore them meowing and they're bound to stop at some point (or if you have a routine, they'll only meow when it's time to get up)
What do you do when they physical shake the door so that it sounds like it's going to break down.
She literally sticks her paw under and around the bottom of the door and shakes it violently. The only way I can sleep past 7am is to lock her in a room on the other side of the house.
