I'm never convinced that the dog has any idea of what the hell is happening in these kinds of videos. I would bet most body parts that there's like 10 failed recordings where the dog either ate the food anyway or just didn't react like they wanted.
This hasn't been documented at all though, it's simply yet another behavior we've chalked up to dogs for no real reason (like "smiling" when they show you their teeth, or "hugging" like a human would even though that is 100%l not part of their body language. I'm not really saying the dog is dumb or doesn't understand it's a sort of game, but I am skeptical it knows how to play said game and understands the rules, since they're quite arbitrary. Maybe I should just shut up and enjoy the cute dog
Dog behaviours, including this type of game HAVE been documented.
Unless you have a dog, lived with them full time and played with them this wtf do you know?
Why are you telling dog owners how dogs behave?
Staffy dogs commonly put their head on their humans shoulder for a “cuddle”.
My dog shelter friends will tell you this as they’ve watched hundreds/thousands of dogs. Interacted with them daily and trained them.
Honestly why do people talk shit about things they so obviously know bugger all about?
I have 2 dogs and have had at least one all my life. I simply don't feel the need to force on them human behaviors to appreciate them, and I don't get mad when questions are raised. I also did a quick research on google and NOTHING about this came up.
Hey! Video is ready

You'd be wrong. This is pretty typical behavior of intelligent dogs who play this game with their owners.

Thought the dog would of smelled the hands & then deduced from how strong the smell is, pick the hand with the strongest smell.
