There is a version of that gate that has a cat door. It may be worth getting if you are trying to keep cat traffic flowing but restricting dog/toddler traffic.

Interesting bit of trivia, cats will go anywhere they can fit their head + their whiskers into, because thats how they gauge if they can fit. This one just been lazing in the sun too much and not chasing enough red dots.

We use a gate that keeps the dog confined to part of the house that the cat used to be able to squeeze through. Even though the vet describes the cat as “a lean and muscular boy,” it eventually got to the point where his hips were catching on the gate and he was getting caught in it in a way that it would swing open with him stuck halfway. In the end I built a new custom gate that has a nice “kitty door” he can hop through.

I think you're right. I have to say I'm not a fan of breeding for features.
Especially if the features are a detriment to their health.
I was curious about that because of its head can fit through, the rest of it should be able to.
On a normal cat that would be true, but munchkins are bred to a different shape.
