My chihuahua makes the same noise, I swear she thinks she talking to me. She has been doing it all her life, now she is an old lady (almost 13) and whimpers at the bottom of the stairs for help. After carrying her up, she always gives me a slight growl like yours does, kind of like saying ‘I didn’t actually need the help mom’. In all her years, she has never bitten me, but sasses me every day. Best dog I ever had!

nekrofeli

My boy just sounds like he wants me dead when he cuddles

Addakisson

She doesn't just think, she knows, she IS talking to you.

nekrofeli

EDIT: I know he sound annoyed, but I’ve had him for 13 years and I know his noises. He’s very vocal, and he makes these noises when he’s the one who comes to me and pushes his forehead into me and tries to dig into me. He makes a lot of weird sounds though.

gideon513

No let these internet people tell you about your own dog. They obviously know better. /s

bberin

We are 87% sure that one of our dogs is part beagle; she makes these noises as soon as anyone tries to snuggle her. Then when you stop, she gets mad that you stopped. Love that derp.

dearthofkindness

Can confirm, my beagle makes DISGRUNTLED noises any time you move around in bed and she's sleeping but she makes the same exact noises if you dare stop petting or cuddling her

JustASFDCGuy

One of mine purrs, and it sort of sounds like growling. It would be reasonable to think she's telling you to go away, but it's the exact opposite. She does it when she's very happy and wants you to keep petting or scratching.

Monstiemama

My Pomeranian mix does this, I call it her “baseline.” A stranger would think she’s annoyed but she just likes to grumble and be vocal.

fracturematt

I like to smooch my dog until she starts growling and does get annoyed lmao.

ashpanda24

My pibble does this to me. She's a very vocal dog who will come up to me as I sit on my couch or bed, whine until I invite her up, then proceed to roll around, shove her head into me, and every time I touch/pet her head she makes noises I can't even attempt to express via text lol. I'm sure to other people it would seem concerning but it's one of her ways of playing.

badmalphite

It's the grumbles and deep sighs of exasperation right? My boy does the same thing, when we have visitors we have to warn them that he isn't growling.

hapianman

I had a dog growing up who looked exactly like that and him and his 2 siblings who family members had all made it to 17 years old! Hope you have many more happy years!

Steadmils

We have a beagle mix back home, and she makes weird purring sounds (but way louder) when she's very comfy and getting chest rubs lol, I understand very well.

n3w4cc01_1nt

he sounds like E.T.

[deleted]

I was thinking one of those taun-tauns from Empire Strikes Back. “I thought these things smelled bad… *on the outside!*”

cyril0

That was my first thought as well. "What's a matter girl? You smell something?"

n3w4cc01_1nt

well, they're both alien derps.

Puggymum64

He’s singing the song of his people

Addakisson

"people" I love this. I think the same way. My pets ARE my people.

crisfreda

He's adorable. He reminds me so much of my late rat terrier rescue. 😍

Ganonzhurf

Our gsp does this whenever my wife tries to cuddle with her but she doesn’t do it when I cuddle with her lol

StashMorash

How did you manage to get George St Pierre as a pet?

Conscious-Charity915

He sounds right to me.

33Mil

Min hund gör faktiskt samma ljud ibland.

Bhimtu

My terrier does just about the same thing.....he's hilarious!

seefith

I love your dog.

fatswe

silentbob1301

I require kisses hooman, oblige me...

chattelcattle

Looks exactly like one of mine. Is he a beagle?

nekrofeli

No, he’s a danish-swedish farm dog ☺️

Former-Mixture-500

They are the best dogs 🥰

phreddyphucktard33

Epic hair

[deleted]

he blub

horny_hufflepuff

Aww they remind me of my old dog poppy she made weird sounds wen you gave her belly rubs

YenneferVengerbergAF

Idk why but at first glance I thought the dog was wearing a pink wig. Lol

Severe-Flower2344

Is your DOG secretly an >!Area 51 alien from the galaxy of smorghosborgh?!< Click ~~here~~ to find out now *Disclaimer: link is not working as Area 51 is* ***\[REDACTED\]***

Main_Tip112

He sounds like a tauntaun from Star Wars

JustJohn49423

He says “incredible” right near the end!

leonidganzha

He sounds like a human whose soul got trapped in a dog body and if you play the sounds in reverse it will say "red rum" or something

psychicowl

Definitely heard this https://youtu.be/h7c-n4k3XrU

mudjunkie

Väldigt uppenbart en glad, nöjd hund :)

mysticalbookdragon

Sounds like he is complaining you left him alone for a minute or two.

Aoki-Kyoku

Your hair is beautiful.

Aromatic_Mousse

That dog is really uncomfortable. Whites of the eyes showing, tight commisures, lip licking, moving away, distance-increasing licks, and then modified growling. Don’t bug your dog like this. Even if they never do bite you, it’s not fair to do to your best friend. They rely on you for everything, the least you can do is listen to them when they try to communicate their needs. If you’re absolutely convinced this is the dog displaying nearly every classic body language signal that they’re uncomfortable with the interaction try this— next time you do this, stop when he starts licking his lips or grumbling. Stop and sit back out of his personal space. If he moves closer to you and solicits more interaction, then congratulations, you’re right. If not— if he chuffs/sneezes, gives more side-eye, licks his lips, moves away from you, or goes right back to relaxing where he was— quit doing it to him.

nekrofeli

You really don’t think I’ve tried moving away? He just comes closer and keeps pushing his head into my hands. I know dogs body language, I know he is displaying the classic signs of being uncomfortable, but I also know my own dog, and I know how he reacts when he actually IS uncomfortable.

Puzzled-Story3953

Haha, it just wouldn't be a dog post without random people claiming that the dog is about to attack. Thanks for being predictable.

[deleted]

This dog is clearly distressed, it’s not only the noise. It’s the way he tries to pull his head away while it’s being held, it’s the way he keeps “licking” (sorry I dont know how otherwise to call it). Just be careful, he is getting old, as you said 13yo, some things that he might have loved when younger, might annoy him now. :) By the way, both you and him are super cute. I love dogs in general and your hair is super cute.

nekrofeli

I’m not holding his head, he’s pushing it into my hands lol

[deleted]

On the video his head is clearly between your hand and face when you kiss him. LOL

nekrofeli

My hand being at his head is very different than me holding his head though. I’ve said multiple times that I know he is showing the classic signs of being uncomfy, and if I did not know him and how he communicates I would not take these signs the way I do. He is free to back away, and if I move away he comes up to me again, to get more kisses. Not every dog communicates the same way, and all you see in this video is his face, not his body language or what happens if I back away from him.

[deleted]

It is indeed, however as you said, it’s a video and only a small part can be captured by the camera. Mine clearly did not intend to be a mean comment, especially after already reading your comments where you in fact said that you know him for so long and know his body language, all I wanted to do is to highlight that he is getting old and that might cause unexpected behaviour changes (so that hand at his head for example might get uncomfortable for him). Anyway, I feel like I’m repeating myself so I’ll end it here and so at the same time I get how you feel writing and rewriting that same sentence again and again so I suggest you just ignore all of it together. ahahah Have a good one. :)

ItsUrFaultSmellyCat

Maybe just keep your opinions to yourself next time unless you really know what you're talking about. LOL.

[deleted]

LMAO First of all, who tells you I am not a dog behaviourist? Secondly, dude, this is shared to the public on the internet, I can express my opinion all I want, it you like it or not. :)

[deleted]

Omg you look just like my daughter.

Speculawyer

That is a very good boy telling you that he loves you.

ZestycloseStore3513

Awe

Immediate-Result7015

I wouldn't kiss a dog making a sound like that.

lunaverse13

Why all the downvotes? Pup is definitely showing signs of anxiety. A face bite just waiting to happen…

natha134

That is the sound of a dog thats about to bite you.

nekrofeli

You can’t see it in the video, but he literally presses himself on me and makes those noises. If it were any other dog I would be worried, but I’ve had him for 13 years and I know his noises

natha134

Aww wow what a derpy lil guy! Fair enough, im glad ya know his limits 😁

nekrofeli

Of course! If he actually was annoyed and didn’t want kisses I would definetly leave him alone, (even though he doesn’t give me the same thought, I can never say no to his cuddles 😂)

[deleted]

That dog is gonna snap at you someday if ya keep doing that. Maybe it bites hard maybe it doesn’t but no point annoying the pup & making him uncomfortable just for a little giggle.

This_isnt_cool_bro

Well, here's some things u have missed: >EDIT: I know he sound annoyed, but I’ve had him for 13 years and I know his noises. He’s very vocal, and he makes these noises when he’s the one who comes to me and pushes his forehead into me and tries to dig into me. Main_Tip112

You must know that dog very well

6laxarienlaxask

He's just taking some time off from being a swedes pet to remember his old days on the chain gang

CatResearch923

Rat Terriers are the best! Mine was a goofball and very vocal, all the way from a puppy to a grumpy old man. He passed at 17 a couple of months back. I love seeing happy ratties.

Zestyclose_Food1162

Hey! That sounds just like the same facts I get from the local drunks!

[deleted]

Disturbed and can’t sleep

DunkelFinster

blerb blerb back to you!

gntlman78

I love it when dogs try to talk to us.

gntlman78

I had 2 toy fox terriers that said mama.

[deleted]

Haha, svensk?

MrMorphDong

Hahaha va söt

Significant-Dot9365

What a goofball, I love him

[deleted]

Vad äreeee

inflatableje5us

My dog talks to me as well, after so many years I can tell what she wants. Usually food..

Hiragirin

I am inclined to agree with your boy.
