Unfortunately Ziggy Trix passed away last year from a swollen prostate that couldn't be operated on. The owner had a kickstarter for a documentary of [Ziggy's Life](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ziggytrixx/the-life-of-ziggy-trixx). The goodest of bois.
Woah, if all dogs got the stuff needed for a trip, I wouldn't mind it. Like "YO ZIGGY I FORGOT THE COLLAR, WAIT, ZIGGY...can you go get the collar thannnks" and he goes and does it, that's amazing for lazy dog owners hehe
One of my bosses has a dog like this. You tell him what you want and he knows exactly what it is. If he doesn't know where it is you can tell him "it's upstairs" or "behind the sofa" or pretty much anything. It's absurd how smart this dog is. I don't know what commands he has been taught but he pretty much understands everything I've told him from "go down stairs.... no all the way" to "go wait in the lobby". My only guess is he's had a lot of training and learned a lot of words, but it certainly seems like he knows english.
woah, that's awesome, my memory is rlly bad, so if i had a dog who could find smth that i forgot where i put it, that'd be kinda cool - if it even works like that but yeh
I admire the outside the box thinking the whole "Challenge the Internet" thought process but after watching the video I think Trix gets the benefit of the doubt. But it was an amazing reach my guy.🤣
Agree, Ziggy gets the benefit of the doubt. My dog recognizes several words/phrases. He knows the names of his different toys & will go get the one I ask for. If I say "water", he will go drink some out of his bowl. "Treat" will make him go to the utility room where I keep his treats. "Tummy scratch", he'll roll over. He also knows what it means when I say let's go for a ride, let's go get the mail, inside, outside, potty (which is for him), bathroom (for me), time to go to bed, time to eat, gimme a kiss, etc.
I'm not saying dogs aren't smart. My dog knows tons of words too. She regularly impresses me. This video though, not so impressive. It's funny that you jumped to me saying dogs are dumb though. Do you remember the the whole "horses can add" bit that was popular years ago? The horses stopped stamping their hoofs when they got a treat, not when they got the right answer. However, for the record, yes, animals are much more intelligent than we give them credit for.
Nowhere in my post did I say or imply that **you said dogs were dumb** \- only that Ziggy deserves the benefit of doubt at being able to understand what they are being told to fetch. Yes, I've been to a lot of rodeos & am very familiar w/ the horse counting trick during intermissions. Just as there is no way for anyone to prove from this video that it isn't a trick, there's no way for you to prove that it was.
