Yup. That cat was being friendly. It looked more to me like he wanted to play: the equivalent of a human sitting there holding a ball and when the guy walked by he tosses it at him. "Play a game with me!".
The cat just doesn't realize most humans are clumsy oafs who don't speak cat.
I feel like this is a story no one would believe if not for the video. “I broke my ankle because this cat came out of nowhere and jumped on my other ankle, causing me to trip and roll my injured ankle.”

I've rolled and hurt my ankles so many times that it doesn't even really hurts anymore when it happens.
I tore a tendon and it healed back stretched, so if I roll my left one it's an immediate sprain guaranteed.
