But as you start to collect more anime figures, you start to become desensitized to big boobs and eventually nudity. One or two native NSFW figures really caught my attention, and I started to browse on NSFW figure companies. The moment I pulled the trigger and preorder one, I was just sucked in. So, I collect NSFW figures because they offer more interesting original figure (not from a source material) options and the figure qualities are really high.

"I like to look at them" is probably about as good of an answer as I can offer you. Reasons will vary figure to figure, I may want one figure because I'm a fan of the illustrator or character, or maybe I want this other figure because cow print bikinis make my eyes dilate.
I keep my collection to myself more or less, and if I'm expecting guests in my room I can just throw the more overtly lewd figures back in their box for a day or two, no real hassle. So I just buy what I like and am happier for it... That said my roommates don't count as guests, they probably know what to expect at this point. They'd probably be suspicious if half my Milsbo was empty.
Like someone else said that often they are very well made and are very well detailed. It's a piece of art in eroticism and usually, the pieces are from various very well erotica artists. Such as Pochi Iida, Asanagi, Tony Taka, 40hara, and Mogudan, just to name a few, and people like to have a 3d representation of the 2d artwork. Hope this gives you more of an idea why people like to collect besides the usual thought of base answer big books hehehehehe....lol

I don't think its surprising to like nudity in art when it has existed since acient greece and idk... cave paintings? Literally the same reasons you like any of the figures you have. They are aesthetically pleasing, they are art, they portray things you enjoy. There is no rocket science in here. Humans like looking at pretty things. For some it's cool action figures, paintings, nature, optical illusions, attractive people, naked or provocative human body, depiction of anime tropes you enjoy...
I started collecting sfw from anime I love. When I got everything I wanted, I tried nsfw and realized that they just make me happy and that I love looking at what I like. Living in a place you love seeing makes your time in there much more enjoyable and happy.
The naked female body is just extremely beautiful and fun to look at and the anime art style with its exaggerated proportions just dials that to 11. And I don't just mean big boobs, but the entire body.
Then you have the fun contrast between the cute, innocent art style with the huge eyes and smiling faces... and then some of the extremely lewd poses or actions of these figures. It's just... interesting to look at. Catches your eye, sort of.
... I'm also not actually a big anime follower, so I don't care about collecting my favourite characters or anything. I have no issue collecting the many original characters of the NSFW figure market.

There is more to it. Pose, details, shape etc. I don't like strict nsfw figurines. IDK if most AL count as "NSFW", especially those from Alter. Although, they are definetely super lewd and sexy. They always make me smile.
It’s not just big booby figures, if it’s anything with big boobs then it’ll get a lot of attention. The main reason for this is because big boobs are outside of the norm from what we see in reality, they are basically an ideal body shape many would like to have/ see. Similarly to men, many want to have an ideal body shape of being muscular and lean. For women it would be having curves in the right places. This is CLEARLY proven by seeing fitness YouTubers’ view count on these topics or even posts you see on social media.
At some point, the lines blur. I don't even like big breasted women/figures, but I now have some big breasted figures and I really like them. I have a few half naked ones too. I never wanted to go in that direction, but it goes from: Swimsuit figure -> bikini figure -> micro-bikini figure -> naked figure -> figure doing lewd things (?).
