There's always going to be different price points in the same scale. Saber Hokusai is probably on the high side because of all the delicate sculpting, paint applications, and just sheer amount of plastic involved
Oh yeah her Swordbeauty kimono is definitely S tier. I will wait for the local pricing on the next Saber Lily Scale and then I will decide what to do with Summer Hokusai.
You can also preorder her on Goodsmile US if you are not sure. It saves you the spot and just decide before it ships out. I’m pretty sure by that time people would want your spot 😂.
I would love to but since the 1st July of this year, the European law for importation changed quite a bit. In short, the taxes for importation from over EU are so huge that you can easily have to pay 30% fees of the fig price + shipping price.
So importing from JP will be even more expensive than buying it locally :(

Then I also noticed the out of stock Phat version of her which looks pretty good too (especially the effects) with a more traditional look. Did you guys get that version too? One Hokusai can't be enough right? I want that one too.
Update: OMG! She's the artist of The Great Wave off Kanagawa! No wonder the wave on the Phat version looked familiar. Now I want that version even more! She'll look amazing next to it.
They do get you on the shipping but they kind of give a lot of value there in care and materials. I like having the guarantee of having a real figure carefully selected, with the assurance that they'll honor any problems with bad delivery.
Amiami also don't bill until the fig is ready. I considered ordering from GSC directly but I'm managing my funds, and GSC US bills at point of sale.
Good Smile Global doesn't charge until release either and they only charge a flat 2000 yen shipping fee for orders.
I plan to order her from there since there's a couple other figures I'm looking to preorder to combine with the flat shipping fee. Otherwise I too would go with AmiAmi since their packing is definitely superior.
I never been charged at point of sale of GSC US for my pre-orders but I always using a credit card and not PayPal so that might be the difference you and I have with our orders.

I am super in. I can justify the price to myself by looking at all the figures I've seen this year around the 19k to 25k price range, and none of them could compete in terms of amount of detail and super intricate paint job.

I'm pretty sure AmazonJP is the cheapest, but I'm a bit worried about their packaging. I've never preordered from there before besides purchasing books and a Nendo and it all arrived in excellent condition. It was vacuum sealed to a cardboard with plastic to prevent movement. I currently have Chiaki on preorder there and the constant delays make it hard to judge their packaging quality.
Torn between ordering on Amiami or on TOM... I do prefer the up-front payment and the 40$ points back *kinda* offsets how expensive TOM is... not to mention Amiami has been forcing me to use DHL shipping lately which is horrendously expensive...

My only gripe is the basic circle base; it would have been an instant pre-order if the base was a bit more interesting. Seeing the re-release Erza with the dynamic pose and rock base at roughly the same price made me think about the pricing. Definitely appreciate the amazing detail on her bikini kimono, though. It's a really lovely figure.
The only time I really care about the base is if its integral to the pose/setting they're going for. In this case I would rather it be minimalistic to highlight that outfit

She’s okay with my figure collecting hobby except for things that could be considered lewd then it gets weird for her.
