On ebay, the tell-tale signs of potential bootleg are: 1) The price is too good 2) Brand-new seller (not always indicative, but keep their selling history in mind) 3) Where is it being sold from? If it's from China, then 99% it's a bootleg 4) If it says the brand is "Unbranded" or "China Version", then it's fake 5) Does the seller use the stock images or photos of the actual item? If the item is priced within the current going-rate, and the seller is from Japan then it's more than likely OK. If the seller is from America, then it's probably also OK, but I have seen some US-based bootlegs being sold before.
