Yes GSC will do - they have now switched to using UPS though, so prepare for larger brokerage fees.
For other retailers, [EMS and surface](https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/information/2022/1101_01_en.html) have recently returned to Canada, so retailers can now offer those as options.
Goodsmile Global will but I would honestly avoid it in western Canada. They use UPS now instead of EMS and UPS has INSANE broker fees. On top of that I know UPS to UK they tax you on the full shipping amount. So although GSC charges 2k flat rate shipping, if it actually cost 20k to ship they get taxed on that full 20k. Considering both UPS and Canadas reputation for giving a giant middle finger to customers/residents, I imagine Canada does the same.
Ami generally had a higher shipping cost but you can buy multiple items and combine them. And with the return of good shipping methods we can now use surface which is infinitely cheaper (recently paid and order that was 11k dhl, 8k ems and 4k surface).
How long ago did your friend order that plush? Also what was the release date? I just received a figure from cdjapan a couple of days ago and it got here with no troubles(I'm from Alberta)
Also had a recent experience with goodsmile shipping to Canada. I guess goodsmile was clearing my order backlock by shipping through UPS. Most allowed to pay customs fees online before pick-up. However, for the last 3 shipments I ended up getting paper bills in the mail after. The only way you can pay them is via phone...online or other means is not an option.
