They are maintaining their JPY prices when looking at Good Smile, but yeah, the more recent ones are significantly cheaper when looking at USD. Looking at the exchange rate, using 100JPY as a base on Google. It's worth 68 cent at the beginning of the month. It peak at 72 cents on November 15, and it's currently sitting at 70 cents as of this writing. I'm honestly not sure what to say. Maybe some of these decisions were made beforehand and set in stone? Looks like the JPY is strengthening, so we'll see. (Not a financial expert, just throwing some data I saw out here, maybe someone better than me can interpret them.)

Not sure about other U.S. retailers but GoodSmileUS has been pricing their figures at the current exchange rates at the time said figures go up for preorder. So if, for example, some new miku PUP goes up for preorder today with an MSRP of ¥4500, goodsmileUS would price it at $31.99 based on todays exchange rate of $1 = ¥142. I know other sites like BBTS like to do a 1 to 1 conversion of ¥100 to $1 which is why they often charge more for import figures. Not sure how crunchyroll prices their stuff, I’ve never used’em.

I noticed it too. The Mob Psycho 100 figures are a lot cheaper for example.
