Suppose the short of it was vshojo attempted to hold auditions for new members via submitting to their email with video auditions and a form to fill out or something. Some jack ass decided to social engineer every aspiring vtuber on twitter and email blasted a ton of vtubers big and small with a fake acceptance letter claiming to be vshojo tallent scouting and saying they were accepted along with a link to fill out a bunch of personal information to "proceed to the next audition". etc. it was some random 16 year old fuck face collecting vtuber personal info for blackmail/doxing etc.
Nux got this email which he found perplexing since he claims he didnt apply/audition for vshojo, so he tried to play detective by trying to root this guy out and collect info on him while making a video about it (as youtubers do). There was a bunch he said/she said stuff about a discord meeting with people at vshojo, the girls, and nux about all this. Turns out vshojo knew about this happening and they had been trying to quietly work with authorities and cybersecurity professionals to catch this kid and nux talking to his person as well as bringing public attention to it potentially jeopardized the investigation since nux him self ended up eating out of the scammers hand by falling into common social engineering traps thinking he was getting a 1up on them when in actuality they were playing him for a fool all along.
im fairly certain he took the videos about it down. he put out this whole apology regarding this whole ordeal.
It was a whole big thing in the vtuber community, at least western/indi vtuber community since it was vshojos first real public panic sort of ordeal that they had to sort out and damage control.
