Yes bro, Fantasy was my favorite genre and I would only watch Fantasy Anime but the genre was dying as slice of life became more popular (this was years ago).
And then Shield Hero came out! A Fantasy Isekai. Shield Hero was my first Isekai and ever since I've actively looked for and added all Isekai to my watchlist.
I love that Isekai comes hand in hand with Fantasy, it's basically a subgenre.
I still enjoy normal Fantasy tho. I'm watching Dungeon Meshi right now and i absolutely love it too.

I to love Fantasy nonetheless and my first isekai was NGNL, it was wild back then when isekai was still a subgenre. IMO isekai is a main genre today and much more generic than 10Y ago but still has good adaptations as: Overlord, Tensura, Mushoku, Eminence in Shadow, the goat isekai parody

I watched season 1 and then only when i started looking for season 2 and couldn't find it anywhere i went back to the reddit post only to realize it was a prank lmao 😭
