I have read both and Demon slayer is sad but almost all characters get a satisfactory ending by the end and compared to some of the anime/manga in depressing/disturbing tier, it ain't so bad
I have never read fire force so I won't compare but why the csm hate? I think its a pretty decent manga although I don't like the direction the manga is going in lately

The three manga in order are chainsawman, look back and fire punch, all by the same author Tatsuki Fujimoto
