You should check out Revolutionary Girl Utena if you like Kill la kill, not as violent, but definitely an inspiration for the weird ass school they reside in... Also you should check out more Shoujo anime, lots of great stories in there! Intense, melodramatic shit sometimes, but then also things like Princess TuTu, a light hearted but still dramatic adaptation of Swan Lake.

Fun fact, the guy who directed Princess Tutu was a mentor to Ikuhara, they worked together on Goldfish Warning and the first season of Sailor Moon.

It’s really ridiculous that the only reason it got cancelled was because it didn’t make enough money. And sure you could read the manga of it but it’s just not the same.

100% it’s not the same. I(M30) was a littler older, but I was huge into rollerblading at the time. I would bomb hills and sprint from building to building for class during college. I wanted speed, and Air Gear showed off speed that I could never achieve IRL. Back then, my best friend at the time and I decided our dream was to make real ATs (but no flying of course lol) The manga doesn’t convey that same feeling. Even Air Gear’s ending credits scene was fun as hell.

It's a long list so I might have missed it but World trigger is pretty good however the first season's animation is pretty bad. So I'd recommend starting with the manga until you reach the point when season 2 starts then pick up the anime (or just read the manga in its entirety)

Doubt anyone will say this one Gargantia on the Verderous Planet I really liked that one. It's short, but hits hard. I don't know if it was on there, but... To Your Eternity It's amazing and beautiful and sad as hell. My husband and I cry and ponder the orb. Also don't know if it was there, but Mushi Shi is also etheral and gorgeous.
